woodie49 Posted April 18, 2011 Report Share Posted April 18, 2011 Thought I would share some Mopar pix from the Woodie Show this week end. Most of the Woodies were Fords (of course) but a decent representation of non-Fords this year. The first picture of the blue woodie (don't remember what year) shows a car that has actually been in the same family since new. The current owner's father bought it, they took it to Europe with them when he was relocated and fled back to the USA (with the car) just as the war was breaking. It would be a great article for The Woodie Times After a little Google search, I did find a Flickr photo and this short write up about it. 1939 Plymouth Woodie Our car finally finished and at it's first showing at Doheny Wood 2010 in Dana Point, CA. We won best original flat head award to boot! Cool... Quick car bio: My grandfather bought the car new in Dec. 38 and shipped it to the south of France where my family lived (red plate on windshield is the original licence plate from France). WWII broke out and they fled with whatever they could stuff in the car. My grandfather forged diplomatic papers to have the car shipped back to the states. My father started restoration in 2001. We had it professionally finished this past year and it shows! Glad to stop writing those checks! Enjoy! We are! Plymouthy Adams Posted April 29, 2011 Report Share Posted April 29, 2011 folks do a lot of things and add 'bling' to suit their fancy..and yes if it is not a V8 why install the emblem..I had considered adding 3.9 Magnum emblems on my Suburban fenders when finished but that is not decided at this time..my car is personalized and I am in no way trying to pass it off as anything close to original..far from that..but I still like keeping the exterior lines of the car clean and the hints that it is modified to a few exceptions...the wagon in question has a lot of personalized features right on down to the rear tail lights, am glad to see the hubcaps done the way they are...(that idea is out of my system now..ugh)..I like lloking at modified/custom/opersonalized cars just to see something fresh and different..not all are tastefully presented, but all are as the owner wanted it..
