Roadkingcoupe Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Amusing video 1942 Dodge footage stunts, jumps and rollovers. Quote
Don Coatney Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I think someone here should try these stunts! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I think the wife does these stunts with her van during her lunch break... Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 I did a google search for this driver and nothing turned up, I wondered if he had a long and productive life? Those Dodges he jumps over look like blackouts but could not tell. Anyway sure could have used some of that trim after he demolished the car. Quote

If you add "stuntman" before his name you get a few hits on google. I like the way the hood and bumper bounce around on the railroad ties...I think it MAY need an alignment after that. Fun video though, thanks for posting Quote
Reg Evans Posted April 11, 2011 Report Posted April 11, 2011 Yeah, and I sure could have used that front bumper before he took it on a little test drive. Quote
Ron42Dodge Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Glad You guys enjoyed the video. I posted it on YouTube for exactly that reason. The official title of the movie is Keeping Faith. I've attached a copy of the ordering form for the movie. I originally cut the first 2 1/2 minutes off because it jumped a lot when I had it transferred. I did later post that portion. It covers the history of Dodge and shows many wartime vehicles. I did get a contact from Jimmie Lynch's Son, Bob Lynch, last of the Death Dodgers texas. Jimmie Lynch was born in 1901, died 1951. He invented a method of operating a 1933 Plymouth from a saddle on the hood. "horse car" Worked for Lucky Teter in 1934 Started own thrill show in 1935- 1951. Jimmie advertised for Dodge, Goodrich and Texaco. Quote
Ron42Dodge Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Jimmie continued to promote Dodge Cars during the war. I believe this ad was from 1944. You can only roll a car so many times before it is nothing to look at. So they removed the body and continued on. The car is running off a Gasometer for a fuel supply. This is a 42 Dodge but the steering wheel is a 41 I believe. Quote

In addition to Dodge, Jimmie Lynch did similar stunts for Plymouth in the early 1930s. I think he and his "death drivers" were on contract to Chrysler Corporation for at least 15 years. Another Dodge abuse film: and one for Plymouth: 1 Quote
