My P12 came with what I thought was a cut out on the exhaust. After taking a look, it is some sort of 3 tube whistle that operates off the exhaust via a cable. Anyone familiar with this? I plan to re-install it after making sure the valve is free.

I attached a picture.

That's cool ! I've never seen one of those. Now all ya need is a ding dong bell and a wolf whistle.

Wow ! Did ya see that guy on the video swerve into the wrong lane and run the stop sign. 2 moving violations in 2 seconds.

The whistle on your car is not the same as the whistle tips shown in the video. It is apparently controlled by a wire for one thing. I wonder what it sounds like? Can it be controlled like a manifold 'wolf whistle?' When you get it running please post a video with sound so that we can hear it.

My dad has talked about these in the past. I think they are some of the original wolf wistles. He always thought they were pretty cool and they were popular back in the fifties. He said they took some practice but they could sound pretty good.

I have never seen one personaly. Please keep us advised as to how they work. The way he talks about them, I would love to have one!

The original automotive wolf whistles are vacuum operated. The sound can be heard in this short clip.

They look like this one mounted on George Asche's engine.

I had a friend who had a whessel on a model t but it worked oft the compression stroke of the engine. It was so loud that you could hear probably three or four city blocks away from the car itself. It had a very high chirping sound. Jon

Your right. I just talked to my dad and he said the same thing. Thanks for the correction. I wonder if it's very hard to find the old vacum wolf wistles?

There are several on the bay now. They are a bit pricey in my opinion.

My son in law bought me one of those new wolf whistles a couple

Christmases ago. Still haven't found a place I want to install it

under the hood.

I'm content with my siren and ooogah horn.
