P-12 Tommy Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Charlie, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Plywood looks good dressed up. Tom Quote
RobertKB Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Charlie, you are making me mad complaining about the cold when in shorts and a t-shirt and the nice warm looking background. I have ordered up an Alberta Clipper http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alberta_clipper for you and am sending it your way!! Plywood sure looks good since the repairs and I am glad you could actually get it repaired as it looked pretty bad at first. Make sure when the winter weather that I am sending arrives that you have Plywood inside outta the weather. Quote
JohnS48plm Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Plywood is looking good. I wish I could send you some of our snow so you could really enjoy the winter. JohnS Quote
T120 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 ..Plywood looks great,Charlie -nice photos, enjoy your ride...Also note from RobertKB's posting concerning "Alberta Clippers",we welcome these in southern Alberta ,as they arrive with a sudden rise in temperature and wind known locally as "Chinooks" (snow eaters) Quote
Greenbomb Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Merry Christmas! Be careful you don't shiver up a sweat! And now I know where my sister-in-law ended up!!!!Nyuk, nyuk! Quote
Charlie Olson Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Hi, Yes, send the Clipper, I have my Timberland Lamb Skin Lined boots, ready to mush. This picture is from April 29th, 2010, near Williams, AZ, on my way to Seligman, to begin the annual Route 66 Fun Run. I am parked on an original section of the Mother Road and that white stuff on the ground is hail and the foggy stuff on PLYWOOD is sleet. You don't scare us. Now where are my floaties for the pool? Merry Christmas, everybody!!!!!! Edited December 21, 2010 by Charlie Olson Quote
Charlie Olson Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 SIL?? Should we be fore warned? Yikes! Quote
bobjob55 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 there is plenty of snow in Arizona !! .. you just have to drive north about 4-5 hours that's all .. and yes a 70 degree Christmas is real nice ... Quote

Actually, you can get to snow in less time from Florence if you head south. The Mt. Lemon ski area is about an hour from Tucson and Tucson is about an hour from Florence. So maybe two or two and a half hours to get to snow from Florence. Looking at a map I was surprised at how long it would take to get to the Sunrise ski area from Florence. I had no idea it was that far from Show Low. But for your best "local" skiing you are right about 4 hours as that would get you to the San Francisco peaks by Flagstaff which I suspect is most likely to have decent snow in Arizona. Expecting 58F and sunny for Christmas in Oracle but that is a bit higher than the county seat where you are. Edited December 21, 2010 by TodFitch Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Uh, Charlie, it just occurred to me that you could perhaps acquire a stuffed woodpecker to sit on the roof of Plywood at car shows. That would surely be good for numerous comments. Edited December 21, 2010 by BobT-47P15 Quote
