ggdad1951 Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I case anyone is in need: I've modeled and confirmed my layout for a battery box replacement. I can send you dxf files and such to have one cut and bent up. Once our laser at work isn't making crap for Lady Gaga's booth, I'll get mine made up and post pictures. No idea if the B-3D has a different shape/size or not... Quote

Merle Coggins Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Ed, isn't the battery on your truck inside the frame? It would be quite different than a Pilot-House battery tray. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted November 30, 2010 Author Report Posted November 30, 2010 and here it is...I MIGHT spread the holes for the batter hold down bolts out a little but looks darn near right on except for no fancy channels formed in. Quote

Really a nice Job! The 2 long battery hold down bolts that come up through the bottom of the battery tray square holes were long carrage bolts that had a cotter pin inserted through the center of them at the bottom so they wouldn't fall through the tray to the ground like when pulling a battery ect. You might of already known this. A couple pictures too. Bob Edited November 30, 2010 by Dodgeb4ya 1 Quote
ggdad1951 Posted November 30, 2010 Author Report Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) I think I'm just going to weld on a nut on the bottom and put a tack a chunck of ready rod in insted. I know it's not "orignal" but it will last the test of time MUCH better then the old method. A LITTLE acid and the carriage bolts will just spin (AGAIN). I know I'm trying to do original, but there are certain things that just make sense to do in the better method, and those fancy bent carriage bolts aren't readily avaialble either. Then again, I'll think about it and do it the original way after a few day's thougtht. Edited November 30, 2010 by ggdad1951 Quote

ggdad1951 Posted November 30, 2010 Author Report Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) I COULD, but since I'm using scrap material and favors at work, I don't hink I could make many w/o causing issues. Hence the offer for FREE files to make your own! I MIGHT be able to get a few outa the shop w/o issues, just don't know how many and WHEN. Let me poke at it.
