Young Ed
I think its just another discussion of cars which is kinda what we do here.
Captain Neon
Not so rare, if it is a fluid drive coupler, as you and I both know, many a Dodge had a 3 spd trans and fluid drive coupler.Infact in Canada many Chrysler "Royal" models had the very same, with the exception of having a 251 engine. I also noticed it was "no reserve" deal I asked an eBay poster that claimed his '48 Plymouth had Fluid Drive. I asked him when it was installed as '48 Plymouths were not factory-equipped with Fluid Drive. He accused ME of not knowing what I was talking about. I reckon your right, on this factory feature, was it possible to order a 48 Plymouth with a fluid drive, I would think not........
BobT-47P15
I find it more amusing than anything else.............how sellers describe, or mis-describe vehicles for sale. I guess there are some people who own an old car, (bought either because they liked something about it, or because the deal fell into his lap).....and they simply go on what they have heard, or learned, right or wrong. They may not really be "car people". He said they need to sell so his wife's new Challenger can go in the garage. At least they bought another Mopar. If I was really interested in buying this particular car. Then I would want more information, but would I get any better answers---I doubt it. I'm not knocking the car itself, just the information provided.

aero3113
Did it sell? How come it says 0 bids?
LAKOTA169
I wrote the seller and asked the following question. Can you post a better picture of the brake pedal and the fire wall mounted master cylinder? Does this car have power brakes? I got this response. HELLO. NO POWER BRAKES, BUT BRAKES ARE NICE. CALL WITH QUESTIONS 1-734-751-1023 DON The car was listed as being in New Baltimore, Mi (Macomb County). 734 exchange is in Livonia, Mi (Wayne County). He also had a couple cars listed on Craigslist. A partner is listed as being in Clinton Twp (Macomb County). Company name is Heartbreak Motors (or was it Heartbeat?). http://detroit.craigslist.org/mcb/ctd/1978639938.html

plyman 50
A dealer should have known if that was a power brake booster on the firewall. I wonder and find it pretty curious why such fuzzy answers were given about the braking system, I find it down right offensive, but that's just my opinion. Plymouthy Adams
you'd be surprised at the number of folks who have never seen a car without the booster thus have nothing to compare it to..its has always been there in their lifetime..for the older folks however..the marketing ad of power brakes and the pedal marked as such was a big deal until it became a standard feature. maybe the cardboard heater duct is safely stored away in the bottom of the spare tire well.. Maybe the writer of the ad is an employee that was given a description of the car and didn't go check for himself before the ad was submitted.....I wouldn't call the dealer a flim flam man something that small. At least the car has brakes, and it can be changed back if you desire less efficency.

Tim I let the little neighbor boys check out my p15. They were probably 7 & 4. They asked me what the window cranks were. They had never been in a car without power windows. So stuff like that does happen
BobT-47P15
As an example of not knowing exactly what you're talking about---back in the 1960s I bought this 1950 Dodge Wayfarer convertible for $75. I had seen or heard something about this model being a "roadster". So I called it that. Later I ran into an older fellow who asked if the car had the removable eisenglass windows (like some of the 49 models). I said it has roll-up windows plus a wing window. He explained the difference and said I had a convertible, not a roadster. So I see how a person can be uninformed about an old car.
Plymouthy Adams
like the term cabriolet....in old school terms..as with the convertible the attached top did fold down with the supporting framework, only the cabrio has a inside headliner also to cover the folding framework from ones view.. again...the term is out of use today and taken out of it true context..same as workds like Brougham etc etc.. Don Coatney
Yup, and the air cleaner brace is probably there as well to keep the duct from rolling about:) I was going to mention that missing brace. Glad you did.
BobT-47P15
My air cleaner brace is missing, too (on purpose).....but I saw it somewhere just the other day. Now-- don't remember just where. I did see a pretty nice 49 Dodge grille for sale at the swap meet I attended today with a $100 price tag.
Plymouthy Adams
now way...I remember everything and where it is..just never do the two coexist when I NEED that item..
