I too like stacks. Expect short life in the lower elbow where it connects to the bottom of the muffler though. All the condensation will collect in the bottom of the pipe. A small drain hole might be helpful. It would look cool.

Would look even cooler with a nice flame coming out of it (not necessarily safe, but still looks cool.).

My truck came with stacks when I got it, but they weren't very well done. I'm still debating whether I'll use stacks again on my restoration. I've always like the look on the 'lil red' dodge trucks. I picked up a pair on ebay and may use those.

I always liked 'em on the Lil' Red Express trucks too. I remember seeing pictures of a Pilot-House that was done up in Lil' Red type trim. It looked pretty good. Anyone have a copy of that picture?

I'll never understand why guys put stacks on....if you want a semi...then buy one, way cooler to have nice 2 1/2" pipes or 3" pipes straight out the back....but that's me......maybe my neck isn't quite red enough :P

what type of heat shields are you going to put on that monster? I have always been fond of stacks but even more fond of safety..

not really thinkin of using heat shields, if some dipstick finds that its a great idea to touch a nice hot muffler with smoke coming out of it thats their problem in my eyes.

"I thought you told me once that you aren't into Rat Rods. But now you're starting to lean that way with this project."

im still not into rat rods, just sending it my way more.. my classification of a ratrod is different engine, body, frame, etc. im just fixing things to either work better, cost less, or be more my style. i was always fond of stacks, so i have a truck with a stack now. and yes, there are provisions for condensation.

I'd recommend some type of heat shield too just to avoid the possibility of someone accidentily leaning or falling against a hot muffler/exhaust. With everybody being so sue crazy these days-why take a chance? Mike

Don't like the stack. I like the rugged look of the truck. Go with the glass pack, homemade running boards, and a big stereo. Then I would be happy. Or.....do what makes you happy, I guess.:D

well, i will say, it looks a lot more rugged in real life, the pics do no justice. BTW-i still have the running boards, they just are beyond repair. the brown dog is lacy, the retreiver is jake.

I never priced one through JD...saw a replacement at NT&Supply that was the same shape and colors without the decal..56.00..I have some yellow heavy vinyl..looks like it is time to get out the sewing machine...think about it, all you do is park your butt on it anyway..but they sure can suck up the rainwater if you forget and leave it outside..
