greg g
On Thursday after noon a fellow rear ended a car, swerved off the road, hit a parked car, and then embedded his vehicle into the entrance of a local restaurant (luckily no injuries) He is extracked from the borrowed SUV and taken to the hospital, He is issued tickets for reckless driving, driving on a suspended liscence, agrivated unliscenced operation (2nd or more offense of not having a liscence) driving while impared, possession of controled substances, methaphetamins, and sufficinet pot for a charge of itent to sell. He gets treated at the hospital on the taxpayers dime and is allowed to leave. Allowed to leave............. Later that evening, he is involved in a head on collision in another borrowed car (procurred from the same moron who lent him the first one) and puts the driver of the other car in the hospital in critical (now serious) condition. He is nearly allowed to leave the hospital after being patched up again on your and my dime, but some one gets correct information and charges him with felony unliscenced operation, driving while impared (he refuses field sobriety tests)failure to keep right and tosses him in the clink. The most current driving while impaired charge is the 4th in 3 years. Liscense suspended for 2.5 years. Had one of us done this we would have been in jail and remained in jail for a good long time. How is it the repeat offenders and idiots can pull this crap, but if you or I or any of our lawabiding neighbors should get pulled over our lives as we know them would be over? I suggested that he be shackled to one of the vehicles he wrecked and treated to a ride through the crusher. Sorry but I couldn't help myself. Please don't drink and drive!!! Those below the law know how to use all the rights we dont have.

faucet47custom
My ex-wife was sentenced on Wednesday. She got arrested for her third DUI in 18 months, blew a .27, was driving the wrong way on a divided four lane highway, driving on suspended license, reckless driving, and two counts of child endangerment. She got 90 days incarceration, 6 months in a rehab facility, and I'm sure she got probation and suspensions and all of that good stuff. I fought this woman for 3 1/2 years and went from having an emergency custody order giving me full custody because she was on Meth to negotiating for split custody so I could finally get divorced. While we were mediating our divorce she failed to mention that she had two DUI charges pending. It's amazing how things work out. At least I get the pleasure of seeing her on June 1st at the hearing about the custody order I had signed when I found all of this out, she will be in lovely black and white stripes. Sorry for venting, but I thought it kind of went with the OT post.
insaneradio
The bottom line guys is these people have no money. It is us who are middle class who have the most to lose. We have enough money to justify the state or city to prosecute and take our money. Yet not enough money to know the right people to get us off. Trust me when I say this---I have witnessed it too many times. Not directly with me but with family members and friends. Dave

I hope everything works out for you and the kids.

Olddaddy
I suppose the longer you live the crazier it gets. A few years ago I noticed a woman in the car up ahead of me in a line of traffic talking on her cell phone and oblivious the green light. I tapped on my horn thinking it might get her attention and she would go through the light allowing the rest of us to get on with our day. I sat through another light change while she chatted away and when I had the chance turned into the moving lane to her right and made my way through the intersection. As I passed I called out loudly, but not rudely, "You are in traffic, get off your phone and drive your car!". Well, no sooner had I said this that the blue lights came on and the lady, a cop, pulled me over, after ending her cell phone conversation. She charged me with Aggressive Driving. The fact that I blew my horn, yelled from my car, and changed lanes to go around her made me aggressive. Well, it cost me $300, a day in traffic school which cost $200 and I have points on my license raising my insurance rates. I have been driving for over 40 years now and I guess I had it coming, being a responsible citizen and all. I guess I should expect nothing less from law enforcement than indiscriminate law enforcement.
