TodFitch Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Not the first ride of the year, but the first after the official start of spring... Had lunch with an fellow I used to work with, he now works at a place on Plymouth Street in Mountain View. So I figured it was appropriate to drive the old Plymouth. Nice day. Only marred by a loose screw on the way home from work. Loose deck screw on the roadway that is. Right through the center of the tread on the left front tire. Sure did not take long for the tire to go flat. I think that a tubeless tire on safety rims would have just had a slow leak and I probably would not have noticed until the car had been parked overnight. But it went flat really fast. I am glad I was only going at surface street speeds as it could have been interesting at highway speeds. Fortunately the spare actually had air in it. I guessing I'm going to need a new tube but will find out for sure when I remove the tire from the rim this weekend. Sorry, no photos. I take the demerit points for that. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Sorry to hear about your screwed up tire Tod. Good thing you weren't on the freeway. Say Greg......if I post photos of more than one of my old MoPars out for a spring drive will I get bonus points ? Quote

Young Ed Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Yesterday I picked up my 46 pickup. To those of you with fuel issues check this out. Truck was stored on halloween last fall. I put stabil in the gas and unhook the battery. Thats my only preperation. The place I store at is unheated and does not allow battery removal. Yesterday I hooked the battery back up hit the gas pedal a few times and cranked maybe 10-15seconds. Nothing so I hit the pedal a couple more times and vrrrrmmmmm. Quote

Flatie46 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 Question for Steveplym, I love that blue on your car is it a modern color off a newer car? Is it base coat/ clear coat paint? Blue is my favorite color and that's about my favorite shade. Quote
steveplym Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Question for Steveplym, I love that blue on your car is it a modern color off a newer car? Is it base coat/ clear coat paint? Blue is my favorite color and that's about my favorite shade. I found it on a paint website, TCP Global. It is basecoat/clearcoat, name of the color is marine blue. steveplym Posted March 31, 2010 Report Posted March 31, 2010 Nope, I love the color and wasn't sure about it when I saw it on the website. Must say I am very pleased. So much I painted pretty much everything that color from the dash and door frames to the wheels. Good luck with your project. Quote
