I understand how alot of the new guy's feel. This is a Plymouth, Dodge you know Mopar site.It is also known that guy's have more than just one make and model of antique. I have my Plymouth however I have other "Orphan" cars as well some are modified. If you ask a technical question you are only going to get 2 to 3 responses because these guy's don't confuse you that's not their deal. Don't let that discourage you.

I like seeing the fact that car guy's are all over the world. When I read this person is from NY, Canada, or over sea's it exciting. Seeing what you are working on.

I just got my first street rod so I ask questions about it. There are rules here so being car guy's I think folks understand when you step out of the norm just alittle. I would like to welcome all the new guy's. I would like to see what you are working and where in the world you are by way of your profile.

I am relatively new to the forum and also lurk a lot without posting. My main reasons are: my truck is a second series 55 C-3-B8, not a true "pilot house". Truck also has a 259 V8 so the "flatheads" don't interest me. I have posted regarding disc brakes using the rustyhope kit.

I still find TONS of useful and entertaining info on this site. I'm probably one of many who would always feel just a little OT.

Don't let that stop you. We've helped others with v8s in mopars lots. Edwin across the pond posts often about his. I joined this site when I had only a 46 pickup. Flathead equiped but not a pilot house. I have since got a 48 and 51 club coupes. But I was welcome long before then

Welcome to the new posters......

Bobjob......hope your operation goes well.

Sometimes some of my posts don't get lots of answers either.

I have learned a lot about my car thru questions and answers of

others.

Sometimes one needs to be a bit social and explain why they are

asking certain questions, so others can see the bigger picture and

know where it all fits in the scheme of things. Just my 2 cents.

There's so much information listed here that a lot of the times with a simple search you can find your answer without having to ask it. Also I can read how to do something way faster than I can get it done on the old plymouth!:D

Yeah, I'm mostly hanging around the edges. I got my 49 coronet this past fall, found this forum and have been checking it out every day since. I have owned lots of cars including a few old ones but am not a "real" mechanic. I also have zero experience with mopar. I have the car I bought because it was nearby and relatively cheap. I spent several weeks going back in time on this forum until I have read every post. What a gold mine of knowledge! I've still got questions but have learned enough to start a mild update including all new interior, paint, etc. thank you, thank you. Question: can I search members by state to see who might be nearby me? That would be neat to compare notes on local shows, cruise-ins, etc. I will be posting some more questions soon.

Bearheart,

I hate to be the one to inform you of this, but you might be located near a few members of very dubious reputation, such as Greg G., Shel Bizzy, and a couple others whose names escape me at the moment. Some of them might actually turn up at your house. Think about that.

Not to worry. Greg G turned up at my house one day and my house did not burn down:D Then one day I turned up at your house with Rodney. We planned to burn your garage down but ran out of matches:eek:

Bobjob: Hope it goes well for you today. Personally, I didn't see this until today as yesterday I was down after having a prostate biopsy. If anyone ever asks you if you'd like a lit road flare stuffed up your patoot, I'd recommend that you decline the offer. Hang in and heal up. Gettin' old ain't for wimps!

Flaming road flare is right. Not to mention having your business handled by perfect strangers. I've had two prostate surgeries and have a third coming up. You guys who don't have a problem have no idea how lucky you are.

Don, if you ran out of matches it means you must have used them somewhere. Are there any forum members that we haven't heard from in a while and are unaccounted for?

Joe, how are you doing with the prostate problems? My cousin had a problem and he went the natural route and his PSA has stayed okay. My brother had it a few months back and I guess they caught it early enough. Hope you're okay. You're a good guy! Take care.

I don't have cancer, but I do have BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia). Just a fancy way of saying enlarged prostate. They've taken portions out of it twice and both times I was back in within six months. I'm relatively young to have this problem but I do have it. It's inconvenient more than anything else because you always feel like you have to go but you can't. It's worst at night because you can't sleep. More information than the forum wanted, I'm sure. You want to hear about my bowels? No? How about my colon?

It reminds me of that old movie from the 1960s, "Fantastic Voyage." Those of us who've been there know there's nothing fantastic about it.

The needle was in my arm and the juice flowing. The last thing I remember before going under was my doctor saying "have scope, will travel":D

Hey, I used that same Logo on my business card as a kid in the 60's only it said "Have Mower.....Will Travel"

My doctor was so jazzed up about the technology, he wanted me to watch the TV screen so I could see what the camera was seeing. I watched for a little bit but then I didn't want to anymore. It was too freaky. "See that bright red mark? That's where the scope is irritating the tissue."

Thanks for that.

I wanted to say, "If you like it so much, doc, why don't you stick it up your own butt?"

Yeah, they oughta have to have it done to themselves before they ever get to do it to someone else! Oh, well...I guess half of us would be croaked off by now if they didn't do this stuff.

LURKERS...please get active/health issues.

I post when I can contribute or share knowledge. I find that listening or in this case reading lets me learn more. If I cannot find the answer to my question then I will post the request for answers. I have always gone by the old saying that the only stupid question is the one unasked. We all have a wide range of opinions and some have less tolerance for questions that would seem basic to all. The one thing to keep in mind is the newer generations that are coming into our hobbies do not have the same mechanical education/upbringing that we have had. There is a big difference between old school and new school auto mechanics. We need to be responsive and not abusive to be able to pass the torch along to the next generation of car hobbyists.

As far as colonoscopies are concerned just tell the Dr. that he is going where no man has gone before!:D:D:D
