Don G 1947 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Can someone help me in identifying this Chrysler radiator? Looks like the radiators that went into the "Job Rated" trucks, but there are a few differences. Set back is a little different, overflow tube discharges on the opposite side, and it has those brackets on the top tank. Not sure, but I think it is for a pressurized system. Tank number is 591253. Thanks for the help, Don Quote
greg g Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Might it be from an industrial application, like a stationary pump or compressor?? Is the core as thick as the tank???? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I can't identify it by application but it surely looks pre mid 30's due to the support bar mounts on top the radiator for to connect to the cowl by means of rods..I think this posted on the AACA forum would get an ident quite quickly.. Young Ed Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 It sure looks like a 39-47 truck radiator to me too. The overflow looks like its been rerouted by someone. If the setback is different perhaps its from a 1ton or larger that used the 25" flathead. Heres my radiator in my 46. Quote
Don G 1947 Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Thanks for the input. To answer your questions, the core is not as thick as the tank and looks very much like the radiator that Young Ed posted. The most obvious difference between the 39-47 truck radiator and this one is the brackets on the top tank. I don't think it was for a 25" block because the 25"blocks did not require the brackets. Don G 1947 Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Also meant to mention that the overflow looks original to me because there is no evidence it has been moved, and there are very neat brackets built into the side to hold the tube. Don Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 The part# is the answer-but too blurry to read. Looks like it starts out with a 6...? Bob Quote
Don G 1947 Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Bob, Tank number is 591253. Don Quote
Jerry Roberts Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 I ran across one like that with brackets on top that turned out to be from a military dodge truck . Quote
