Norm's Coupe Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 We are supposed to get a rain/mix of snow here tonight or maybe tomorrow night. At least whatever falls this time of year will melt right away because the ground is not frozen. But..........just came in from uncovering the snow blower and cranking it up for the first time this year. Probably won't need to use it for at least another month. But.........I always like cranking it up the end of September or first part of October, just to make sure everything is working right. If not, it gives me lots of time to get it into the shop for repairs, if needed. Nothing worse than having 10" of snow on the ground and the blower don't start or work like it should. I do have a good backup now should that happen. My next door neighbor bought a snow plow for his pickup about 2 years ago. If needed, he'll plow me out for $20. Quote
pflaming Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 Central Calif. 45 at sunrise, 80 at sunset. Clear skies, no wind, no mosquitos, no flies! FINALLY, two weeks ago it was 100+ for about 15 days. I lived in Omaha for eight years. There are usually two good days a year. The challenge is to find them. I must correct myself, there are about five, that is when the Huskers are playing, but even that assumes they win so now we are back to three!:D:D Quote

We played tonight for a pig roast at a fellow's home about 35 miles from here.... cooled down to the low 50s or high 40s by the time we were done. We were set up inside a nice open front machine shed but it still got cool. No snow yet. Quote
