Hopefully I'm going to have time this time around

Been a LONG time since I've been around these parts. Been busy getting our business running. My wife has had it going since 2005, but it got too big for just herself, so I came on to run the business part of it while she does all the hard work. We just hired 2 employees in the past 3 months, too. Lots of stuff getting in the way of doing all the fun things like coming here, working on my Dodge, etc. I'm really missing hopping in my Dodge for a quick run to the store or actually having it at my own cruise-ins (that one really hurts), so I need to get to work on getting it rolling again. Hope everyone has been well and looking forward to meeting all the "new" people.

Good to see you pop back on...you should have told them about your new idea on the cruise-in you mentioned to me last week in the e-mail..folks here may want to try that in their area..

I've been running a fairly successful cruise-in once a month at a pizza joint. It takes place the last Saturday of each month in the evening. Well, a buddy of mine mentioned that he'd like to see something in the morning, so I made some calls and now have a Sunday brunch at another restaurant. It's on the second Sunday of the month so it won't interfere with the other cruise-in. If you've thought of starting something up in your area, don't hesitate. There's really nothing to it. Most people in my area are just itching to get their cars out, but don't like crossing the bridges around here and a lot aren't "show" cars so they appreciate just having a cruise-in instead of a car show. There's only been one Sunday brunch so far, but lots of positive feedback.

this is so much what we used to do every two weeks or so on the motorcycles..get up early during the summer months...gather at a central start point to most riders...90 % of the time I had mapped the course ahead of time..if we got seperated by a traffic light we rolled to the first safe pull over and waited for the stragler..we would ride from about 1 to 2 hours max to a site for breakfast..take the back roads, circle through old towns and older homes etc for your viewing pleasure..eat..drink a bit of coffee... and head back and be home by mid-day..we also did a number of 3-4 day trips in this same fashion..

could never seem to get the car folk interested in do this..wish you great success..does your friend still have the hearse? he'd make a heck of a lead car in a open highway cruise...

I want to do a driving event again soon. The last one I did was the opening of the new bridge several years ago. Also wanted to do a poker run around here for the cars. Most poker runs are for motorcycles or boats.

I haven't seen the guy with the hearse recently. A lot of the regulars from 2-3 years ago have sort of disappeared and we have new regulars. I need to track down some of those guys, though. They still get my monthly reminders...

Sounds like you are in a field that is going to be around for a while, and pretty much recession proof, and maybe when thisgs turn around even sella house or two once in a while. Wondered what happened to you. good to have you back.

I've been out of real estate for about 2 years now. Luckily got out before things got real bad. I've been working with my wife for a little over a year. Haven't killed each other yet although there have been some close calls.
