Aside from a vendor with such a thing at a swap meet, the only place I know is to

continually watch ebay. I bought a pretty good one recently for $25, but not

perfect. New old stock stuff comes up as sellers run onto them.

I just sold two on ebay. Bob did you win my auction?

Best.

ARTHUR

I don't think so Arthur.....the seller was scarab51 in Maine. It was actually

$20 plus shipping of $5. Sometimes I just love "buy it now".

If you do this it will show that you have made some worth while contribution to this forum as opposed to only asking questions, getting answers, and not following the links to answers including the links on this thread.

Another option is to send me an up front fee of $80.00 bucks an hour (close to what your mechanic charges) and I will do the (one hour) research (that you do not have time to do) for you. I will report my findings to you so you can get the parts you need to make your car auction ready. This is actually a really good deal as I know where to search and what to look for.

Deal, or no deal? I am not kidding nor joking. This is for real....

Don, I think Mr Warshaw should have bought a car from the BJ auction, all nice and shiny new.

Michael, man you have your work cut out for you, are you piecing your P15 all back together, I did quite a bit of the same.

Another thing Michael, how about some pics, or do I need to do a search for pics that have been posted with your car already, no pics your car is a bit of a Phaentom......Fred

Hi Mike, If you're not in a hurry to find the parts you are seeking, you might find going to swap meets interesting. It can be fun and you get to hang out with other car guys.:)I found this horn button earlier this year for 10 bucks at a swap meet -what I would consider a fair price.I realize the plastic in this one says Dodge (for my D25) but it is the same fit as your Plymouth and I think you would be able to find one for the same price with the Plymouth plastic insert.Ralph

Ralph,

As he said in another post, he doesn't have time to waste reading, so how would we expect him to waste time walking around a swap meet.

Ya know, looking back at his original post, it was dated 9/9/09. In that time he could have stripped his old plastic insert, painted it, and then buffed it out with some plastic polishing compound and it would look just like new again. And, that would have only wasted about 2 or 3 hours total labor, spread out over that same period of time. Not only that. But.........he could have taken his old horn ring, horn button bezel and other small chrome parts to a plating company and had them back looking like new again by now, for just a few hundred dollars.

Now, who's wasting who's time?

Norm,It does require an interest in the hobby.I've gone to a lot of swap meets over the years and not found something I was looking for - that's not to say I came away empty handed.:)Nevertheless I don't think of it as a waste of time.I enjoy myself and generally have a good time.Ralph

not every piece out there is in show condition but it is not junk either...but as most all of us on the forum know and practice..little personal involvement will net good returns. These two items (button and ring) were bought at different vendors at a swap meet, same day, Total cost of the two items..12.00..I have less than 2 hours in polishing and painting the unit in my own shop..I probably have about 5 of these laying around right now..it is not hard work, but does require a tad of personal involvemnent and a skill level above that of cub scout..I bougth 3 horn rings from one vendor at 5.00 each...not a bad deal considering most are only lower halves...he had a stack of them also..

Note...the picture of the button was after polishing the bezel and plastic center itelf on my buffing wheel..most finds are not already shinned..the plastic usually shows sign of hazing or at least some small scratches easily removed..especially at the lower cost aforementioned

Ralph,

I'm with you on going to swap meets. I use to go to between 3 and 5 meets a year. Did that for about 17 years straight. As you said, you don't always find any parts for your car though. But........it was still a fun outing with the guys walking around looking at all those junk parts. Even if I didn't find any parts I needed for my coupe, I would always come home with something for some other car. Then I would clean it up and sell it on ebay or use it as a trade for something else. About the best outing was when I found a box full of parts taken off one car. All trim pieces, including a rare hood ornament in perfect condition, except for washing it off. Only paid $35 for the whole box of parts and sold them on ebay for about 800 to $900 total. That money eventually went back into my coupe. So.........even when you find no parts for your car, you can still buy other parts, make a profit, and then buy the parts you really need using the money from those profits. So.........you won't hear me saying it's a waste of time to go to a swap meet.;)

I'll call that and raise you with this.:D This is hanging on my garage wall, complete restored steering wheel.:D Have another horn button in the cabinet, but........not selling the one on the wall or the one in the cabinet. I like the steering wheel on the garage wall. Makes nice garage wall art.;)

Michael,

Your car does look nice. Nice engine compartment too. But.........I'd pick up a new coil from the auto parts store for a spare. From the shape of that one, it looks like it's very old. Newer ones don't have those ridges in them, they are smooth on the sides. Looks like the previous owner just cleaned that one off and painted it.
