Woody Branham Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Had this car for a while and just got started going over it. Body is good except for two fixable dents and lots of surface rust.Floor pans are very bad but repairable. No headliner but the bows are there. All the wiring needs replaced.Dash has rust near the windshield. Yesterday I pulled the plugs(hard to get out)and shot some penetrating oil in the cylinders, let it set while I Pulled out all the junk the previous owner had left inside so I could take a good look at the floor pans and wiring under the dash. In that junk was 4 original 16" rims, the radio, original hub caps and one nice trim piece. One piece of belt moulding is missing.I sprayed the cylinders again, did more oveall inspecting, then tried to turn the engine using the fan blade. To my surprise, the engine turned a little so I shot some more in and continued to rock the fan blade forward and back til I got good movement. Removed the dist.cap and turned it more to make sure everything was free. I will have a lot of questions for you guys later. Regards, Woody Quote
greg g Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 good luck getting it going. Pretty simple and straight forward. very forgiving of conditions and will still run pretty good. Brakes are tricky. Welcome aboard and ask away. Quote
anthonyb Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Woody, What body style on the P11? I have a Deluxe two door sedan. May have a part or two that you may need. May need a part or two from you if you end up with any spares. Good to see someone else with an 'old' car amongst all these guys with their 'new' cars. Quote
RobertKB Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 If you have any pictures I would love to see them. Imagine there are a lot of other members who would to. Good luck on your project. Quote

Young Ed Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 If you have xp go download the photo resizer addition. Search for power tools. I can just right click a pic and then choose small medium or large resize and if I want a new file or to replace the existing. Quote
Woody Branham Posted January 31, 2007 Author Report Posted January 31, 2007 Thanks, but I am still running windows 98 and I think something in my easy share software is corrupted. I will resolve it eventually. Regards, Woody Quote
RobertKB Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 If you use photobucket it lets you change the size of the pictures. It's also free. http://photobucket.com/ Quote
John Reddie Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 If I remember correctly, the P12 had more extras than the P11. For instance, the P12 had chrome trim around the windshield where the the P11 had the black rubber. I think that the P11 had a plainer dash with less trim and some P11's lacked the horn ring too.. Some of the P11's did not have vent windows in the front doors; solid window. The overall appearence was the same. One of my favorite years for Plymouth is the '41, either model. John R Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 I agree..the grille of the 41 is just fantastic design...I bought an original survivor 2 door sedan and let one of the forum reader here talk me out of it..of them all I think they are prettier than the coupe...at least they are harder to find...at least I got to drive it around in the orchard..lol Quote
Woody Branham Posted February 1, 2007 Author Report Posted February 1, 2007 Not too pretty but you gotta start somewhere. Regards, Woody Quote
Normspeed Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 For me, the 41 was the best looking Plymouth of them all. And I like all the early Mopars. Quote
