John Nickell Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 For the past six months my parents have been working feverishly to get my dad’s car done in time for my wedding Saturday. The painter they worked with was a nightmare but they pulled it off. Here are a few picks from a guest of the car. The professional ones will be done in two weeks. Let me know what you think. If it weren’t for the help I’ve got from this forum I know it wouldn’t have happened, so thank you for making such a special day even more so. Thanks, John Quote
1940plymouth Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 John, Looks like the nightmare if over, the Plymouth looks darn good. Good luck in your marriage. My wife and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary on July 9th. Again, good luck, Bob Quote
woodie49 Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 First, Congrats to the Bride and Groom. Getting married was the best decision I ever made, hope you feel the same in 25 years! Now the car: Looks Great! I think whatever the painter put you through, it paid off because the paint looks great. I love the color scheme. Quote
1940plymouth Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Opps, I am sorry, I said Plymouth, but the car is a Dodge, now that I look closer. What a dumby I am Quote
dezeldoc Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Congrats John, Enjoy it and remember give a little, but not to much, ya don't want her to cut them off and put them in the freezer for ya! me and the wife are on 28 years, in a few months it will be 29! (dang where does the time go!) as for the painter, all of us are a pain to deal with. we always got some lame excuse to delay it for ya! Quote
greg g Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Looks real nice, I like the combination and the Chromed smoothies. Quote
Reg Evans Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 May you and your new wife compliment each other as much as the two colors of paint on the beautiful Dodge do. Congrats ! Quote
Captain Neon Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 It is nice to have our cars at weddings. It was a special privilege that my sister asked me to bring my P15 to her wedding in 2006. The groomsmen rode with me. My dad drove my sister and her husband in his '36 Dodge. Bridesmaids left the wedding in Dad's '47 Ford driven by the father of the groom. My P15 was not able to come to my wedding in 2002 as we were living in Arkansas, but the wedding was in my wife's hometown near Albany NY. Time was a big factor so we drove my '92 LeBaron convertible instead. Quote
aero3113 Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Looks great ! Next week I will be using my 50 Plymouth in my wedding. Quote
Rumble1960 Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Very eye catching car, good luck with the marriage! Quote
Bingster Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 All the best to you and your bride. And that has got to be one of the nicest color combinations I have seen on these old cars. It looks beautiful! Really does. Makes me seriously consider putting something like that on my black Desoto. Take care. Quote
boxer_inv Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Congratulations John The car looks great and I seriously LOVE that colour burgundy. Was the car a 2-tone combination previously? and how did you or your father decide on where to run the 'line' of the colour split, especially around the rear end where there isn't 'trim' to give a guide? All the best Rob. Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 Wow! Excellent pictures and congrats on your wedding. Tom Quote
