Hi Group

I am reassembling my S-11 4 door after several years of resto work.

I did not adequately document the door window installation prior to disassembly.

I have all new channel runs, sweeps and glass, but I cannot figure out how the window rollers belong with respect to the vertical channels in the doors. I am very anxious not to scratch the new glass or paint wrestling with this.

I know the rollers do not run in the channels like the glass does, but they just don't seem right, no matter what.

Does anyone have a car with the door panel(s) off, who can describe or photograph the correct orientation of the window rollers?

Please help me out:confused:. The DeSoto club members were silent on this...

Thanks

the rollers are placed on the corner brackets welded to channel the glass is bonded to with setting tape. The rollers are spring loaded and are to hold some tension to the left and right upright glass channels and ride outside the channels. The rollers also have plastic isolation/anti squeak that is positioned to lay against each side of the roller. The springs are usually a bit fragile at this age so be careful on installing...these are not fun to deal with by the way...

The rollers are flanged. They do run in the glazing channels, not the full depth of the glazing chnnel, but the depth of the flanges of the rollers.

You have to pull the rollers back from the glazing channels, against the spring tension, and then let them fit into the glazing channels.

Here are some more pic's of the rollers on a chrysler 3 pass coupe.

Guys anyone know what to do with a window that goes up crooked? My pass door window has to be pushed towards the outside of the car to get it rolled all the way up.

I'd have to double check but I installed this window new and I don't believe I would have installed it like that and its always rattled.
