dezeldoc Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 My first clue it was a 6 is the front end is to short!! he already has 2 things going against him, 1 Karstupid, 2 muskogee, OK!! Quote
greg g Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Yep seller's name says it all. Sent him a question wondering if some of the 6 plugs fire more than one cylinder. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 I bet it IS the hydromatic......because it also has the bucket seats with center arm rests. Quote
windsor8 Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Maybe that's a really super rare factory experimental prototype concept custom one-of-a kind D-24 plus 2 more. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Over time, I've seen many old cars where the seats have been replaced by later model items, be they buckets or bench. I've never had occasion to sit in and drive one of those cars. I'm thinking it would seem odd not having the original style seat........would take away something from the overall experience of driving an "old" car. Just a thought........ Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 if custom is your direction..seats are of no real concern as long as they fit well and you match them to the interior eventually..I have never really tried to look out the windshield and under my buns at the same time while driving..just get her out there and on the road.. Norm's Coupe Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Bob, Really bucket seats are no different than the bench seat we sit on, except they are more comfortable to sit in. As far as sitting lower in a bucket seat, that's solved by building a pedestal frame for the bucket seat to mount to. Then you can sit as high as you did with the original seats. You can also get bucket seats like in my wife's car or my van. Just by lifting a lever the seat will go up or down, and you can also adjust the seat bottom tilt of the seats with a knob. Then of course you can adjust the seat back too. If my seats had been bad when I bought my coupe I would have replaced them with modern buckets in the front. Quote
dezeldoc Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 sometimes the sellers put the wrong # when filling the spaces in the preset section, but this guy went on to put straight 8 in the description as well. When I went back for another look there is another strange difference. It has the thermo housing style for an internal bypass engine, and an odd hose routing for the heater. I did not think any D-24's got the internal bypass setup. That is the way my P-19 is with the housing and heater. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Forgot I had these pictures. Nice bucket seats in this 41 Plymouth. Guy said they came out of a Ford Explorer. Originally this was a business coupe with no back seat. But........the owner wanted a back seat so he also used the rear seat from the Explorer for a back seat in the coupe. Quote
48mirage Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 For grins and giggles I asked him to reveal the engine number. Quote
greg g Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 just got an answer, said he copied the wrong ingormation to the sale listing. didn't mention that he was going to fix it or not. he has revised the listing. Quote
