Young Ed Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 FYI the maroon dodge truck listed as a 39 is a 41-42 Quote
Reg Evans Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I noticed that too Young Ed. I want that 41 Barrel-Back T & C Quote
RobertKB Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Thanks for posting. There are some gorgeous cars in there that I would love to have but will likely only see on the WWW. Like Reg, the '41 woodie is my favourite. Quote
Brendan D25 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Nice link, Dennis, thanks for posting. Re the Airflow pic # 20. He says the Airflow was produced from 1932 to 1937, is this correct? I thought it was less than that. In the previous pic of the Airstream he mentions that it was introduced one year after the intro of the Airflow. Brendan. Quote
RobertKB Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Brendan, you are right. Desoto Airflows '34 to '36 and Chrysler Airflows 34 to '37. Fellow in the car club I belong to has a '37 Chrysler Airflow witht the straight eight. Beautiful car. Quote
radioguy7 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I'd have to say my favorite would be a 1959 Dodge Lancer. Love the classic 50's lines of that car, plus it looks tough. Quote
B-Watson Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 FYI the maroon dodge truck listed as a 39 is a 41-42 Some 'historian'! Not only is he wrong about the Dodge Truck, but he claims in one blurb the Airflow was built 1932-37 (should be 1934-37) and in the next says the Airstream was introduced in 1936, a year after the Airflow. He is right about the year after the Airflow, but the 1936 model illustrated was the second year for the Airstream. The first Coronet was 1949, not 1951, and the convertible shown is a 1950 model. All that "baggage" (Willys, Kaiser, Nash Rambler, etc.) really had no influence from Chrysler. They were all dead and gone by the time Chrysler purchased AMC in 1987. No mention of the 1951 Chrysler hemi, the 1957 models nor the 1960 Valiant (the only successful model of the Big Three's original compacts). Bill Vancouver, BC Quote

RobertKB Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I need to get me some of them there knickers for when I drink my morning and afternoon coffee in the snow. I don't want the knickers but those old Chryslers were good looking cars. Quote
