Merle Coggins Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 or anyone else in SE Wisconsin... Norm, I was thinking about taking my truck up to Pistol Pete's this Wednesday for their Cruise Nite. If you feel like getting out in your coupe, come on over. I'll even take a picture for you to prove that it'll go past the end of your driveway. Merle Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Merle, It's been a long time since I was at Pistol Pete's with the coupe. Last time there was the first year they started the cruise in. Was there a couple of times after that too. Then they started having everyone sign in and I didn't want to do that. Plus, it started to get kind of wild there with the street rodders and their rods. They would pull out of the parking lot and burn rubber as far down the road as they could. So........I just stopped going all together. Do they still have you sign in? I already have a picture of the coupe at Pistol Pete's. Here it is. Was the first cruise in I took the coupe to. Don't remember the exact date of the cruise in, but the picture file on my computer says June 2003. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 25, 2008 Author Report Posted August 25, 2008 I've never been there yet, I've only heard about it. I figure it's worth going once. If I don't like it I'm only out one evening's time. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Norm I doubt they are checking IDs so if the sign in thing bothers you just list your alias. Mortimer snerd or something like that. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 As mentioned, I haven't been there for awhile with my coupe. Wife and I went there for a fish fry a couple of years ago on a Friday night. That was the last time for that. I didn't care for the way they fried the fish. Had some kind of spice in it that ruined the flavor of good fried fish. Wife has been there a few times with the women in her monthly club. Last time was within the last year or so and also on a Wednesday night. She said they are going to avoid that in the future on Wednesday nights. Was too many people there due to the cars. If you want to go, I'll see how Wednesday looks and let you know. I guess they do have good Pizza there according to my wife. Since you frequent Menomonee Falls on a regular basis, Slotzky's on Main and Pilgrim Road just east of the gas station also has a cruise in on Tuesday nights. That one is much lower keyed. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Norm I doubt they are checking IDs so if the sign in thing bothers you just list your alias. Mortimer snerd or something like that. So Ed, send me a private message with your last name and address and I'll use that. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Wife has been there a few times with the women in her monthly club. Is it just me or does this sound dangerous? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 I think this may be a double dog dare... is there someone here from Missouri Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Is it just me or does this sound dangerous? Not really. All the women in her club are in their 60's, except one who is the daughter of another woman in the club. She's in her mid to late 30's and taken. Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Is it just me or does this sound dangerous? Young Ed; As a future POC president and husband let us mentor you a bit. Brides need to spend time with their friends same as grooms do. You will need to spend some of your time with your brides monthly club (the once a year party should suffice). And your bride will also need to spend time with your old car passion by going with you at least one time weekly to a car related event. Now trust me when I tell you this. Do not feel obligated to spend car money on silly birthday/valentines day/holiday/anniversary/etc. gifts for your bride. If you do this one time it is one time too many. Train her early that you will not waste car money on such trivial things. The time will come where (on a special day such as her birthday) she will be in tears and you ask her what is wrong she will say “you never get me anything”. You must reply “What do you want”. She will then say “I want some Kleenex to dry my tears, I want a new pair of pantyhose so I can go to work in the morning, and I want something to eat. At this time you walk away and jump in your Plymouth. Drive to a store and buy a box of Kleenex, a pair of pantyhose, and a dozen hot dog’s with buns. Return home after a nice Plymouth drive and present your purchases to your bride. You will be a hero! This worked well for me. Quote

Ed, Don has it almost right. Not so sure I agree with all he said though, just the above. My wife's little group has been getting together once a month since sometime in the late 60's, long before we even met. Some years ago the husbands did join in once a year for a get together. However, now there are only two left, me and one other. So.........that once a year get together doesn't happen anymore, although we do get together for dinner, etc. with the one woman and her husband. As far as attending the meetings though, that has been cut down to once every five years. The women no longer meet at their homes once a month, they go out to eat instead. Then they rotate their annual Christmas party at each others house. So..........now I only have to attend when it's my wife's turn once every five years. If you want peace and harmony, I think I'd ignore the other things Don said. Quote

Don Coatney Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 how can you have fun making up? What is there to make up to? You are ahead of the game already. Let your bride make up to you. Quote
Young Ed Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Haven't had to make up yet. She's the bestest Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 For Don Coatney, Definition of Wimp. W = WISE I = IN M = MATROMONIAL P = PROCEDURES :p Quote
Young Ed Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 ED: Looks like she has the right idea...look who's doing the wash....of the car.. You are very right. Shortly before or after that picture she washed me with the hose. Quote
steveplym Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 You are very right. Shortly before or after that picture she washed me with the hose. Looks like she is starting to go after you with the hose in that picture. You are a lucky one Ed. I can't get the wife to hand wash her own car, let alone mine. She will clean the inside though. Although I think she would gladly wash me with the hose. Quote
randroid Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Gents, There are those who have said I'm PW, and to them I say congratulations on your tremendous command of the obvious. Everybody is whipped by something, be it drugs, alcohol, or the phone company, and if I have my druthers I'd prefer to be whipped by something nice and soft and furry, thank you! I can say 'Yes, Dear' in seven languages and I stand before you a happily married man. -Randy Quote
greg g Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Boy this got outa hand in a hurry!!! Norm you were invited by a member of the forum to join him in a car related activity in your area. Whether or not you wanna take your car, whether or not you like the location, whether or not you care for their fish, give the fellow a couple hours of your time. Go say hi have a cup of coffee, a coke or a glass of water. even on the off chance you might have a tolerable time. Its not like he invited you to go to the dentist or something. As for the rest of the stuff I have a freind who is a midling divorce lawyer. Quote

I would like to see Merle's truck. It was still in pieces the last time we got together. Actually, as far as the hot rodding goes, I think the police must have come down on Pistol Pete's. I think they now stress no hot rodding is allowed on their website. It does get a little crowded out there on Wednesday nights though. I also met another former forum member out there. He was the one who took the picture of my coupe that I posted. When they first started he owned a red 48 Dodge Coupe with a 350 engine in it. He was also the DJ for the cruise ins at the time. He sold his coupe several a couple of years later though and just sort of faded away. As for the food. Well.........don't think they serve fish except on friday's. It's primarily a pizza and burger place and bar combo. Wife and her friends likes their pizza. I've never had pizza out there. Only ate there the one time. I think they must put the pizza spice in their fish and that just ruins good fish. As for all the comments about Ed's girlfriend washing his car. Well........they ain't married yet. Quote
