  1. It's a beautiful place. I'm jealous. Enjoy!
  2. I agree 100%. I've never seen any 1951-1952 Plymouth with carpeting (I've looked at literally hundreds of them over the years) and wasn't aware of carpets in the Belvedere until dodgeb4ya indicated they had it.
  3. I'd also suggest taking a couple of old un-mounted tires to rest the engine on while transporting it.
  4. I went to a van conversion place and got a rubber mat they pulled out of a new Econoline they were upgrading.
  5. Bob, I've been very involved with '51-'52 Plymouths (my wife would say obsessed...) since I was a kid and have never seen any of them (including the occasional Belvedere) with a carpet. Your '52 came with carpets?? Wow! Harold
  6. The second car I ever drove was my aunt's '55 Buick Century 4-door hardtop, identical except for color to the one pictured. They were excellent cars.
  7. If you pull the wire through the column jacket, tie a string to it first so you can pull the wire back in afterwards.
  8. Take a look at the bulkhead connector on the firewall.
  9. I'm surprised nobody repros '50-'52 taillight bezels. There were way over a million of them made in those three years, so even though they aren't the most popular cars on the block there still should be enough demand to justify production.
  10. A rare bird indeed. I almost bought a new one when they first came out and am kind of sorry I didn't.
  11. We're still organizing the house with the goal of moving to a smaller one and I keep finding automotive and other stuff to sell. My issue is that eBay has become very anti-small-seller. Their latest brainstorm is that buyers can claim the item is misdescribed and eBay will refund their money, and then swipe the funds from the seller. Basically, if you sell on eBay you're agreeing to binding arbitration if the buyer decides to play games and eBay is the judge and jury. Besides Craigslist and 'target marketing' (Buick stuff on a Buick forum, for example), where else can I list items and get national or at least widespread exposure? I don't mind paying a reasonable commission if the item sells. Thanks for any ideas. Harold
  12. Maybe the nameplate said 'HyDrive'?
  13. Good to hear you've had a positive outcome. Plus, you learned a valuable skill along the way!
  14. Check your clothes dryer. That's where we found the only key to our newly-bought Dodge Stratus yesterday, after 3 hours of searching everywhere. A good locksmith should have no trouble picking your old Yale and can make a key if he has a compatible blank. Good luck!
  15. Nice looking Plymouth. Enjoy it. Was this car ever a fleet vehicle? The spotlight and extra antenna, along with the car being a Cambridge, make me wonder if it was ever a taxi cab or patrol car. Are there any filled light holes in the roof?
  16. I'd say your air filer is late fifties judging by its style and the pringitn on the sticker.
  17. Partially-closed thermostat or stuck heat riser?
  18. Welcome to the forum. We're where it's at if your motor's flat! I put a '57 Plymouth 230 engine into my '52 Cambridge, essentially the same swap but in reverse. The '52 bell housing bolted right onto the '57 block. The newer engine uses an electrical coolant temperature sensor instead of the bulb-type on the '52, and the thread sizes were different. I also had to fiddle with the gas pedal linkage (still not 100% pleased with what i did...on the 'to do' list). I used the '52 starter and flywheel. Best of luck with your project.
  19. Try visiting your Motor Vehicle Department, explain the situation, and see what advice they have.
  20. Bob, Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. My thoughts are with you. Harold
  21. Thanks, I'll add them to my list. Why walk a mall when you can walk a pick-n-pull?
  22. Were you at Gary's in Binghamton?
  23. The light doesn't have holes for mounting a mirror. It's just a reflection in the picture.
  24. There are no names or markings on this spotlight. It has a 6 volt bulb and the remnants of cloth-covered wire. The most unusual feature is the concentric rings on the back of the lamp. I also posted this on the AACA and HAMB sites. So far, one person suggested it's an Appleton. Can anyone here identify it? Harold
  25. I went to Bill Hirsch's place on Littleton Ave many years ago. It is an old movie theater as I recall. The neighborhood was kinda rough also; maybe it has gotten better over the years.
