Time to step back and relax a bit. Jon, you have worked hard at this project, and have correct some problems. I am not going to re-read this complete thread to see all suggestions and work done. I am not a mechanic, and do not profess to be one. My only thought on this is that "air", unless there is major "air", is not going to allow the pedal to drop to the floor. The only time that I have ever experienced such a problem,(other than a broken brake line, or a wheel cylinder that was toast) the master cylinder was the culprit. I know you have spent time in that area, but for the pedal to move and not displace the brake fluid where it needs to go, to me, points to the insides of the master cylinder. Wish we were located closer. I would loan you a rebuilt master.

If you are using your horn as was intended, having a non functional horn ring/button does not make much sense. If you are just using the horn to say hi/bye then I suppose an alternate location horn button is OK as you then have time to think about where it is located. Washer, spring, T. Pretty simple set up. Check it, I am sure you will find the problem.

my replacement gasket is .067

Check your other P15 to match up that everything is in the correct order. Someone posted sometime back that they corrected theirs by turning the spring a bit.

Not a common find in NY

As Don said, make sure you are on the compression stroke. I put my oil pump back in, and was sure I was at TDC compression, but the distributor tang must have been slightly off, rode on the oil pump, and dropped in 180 out. Once I had the piston on what I thought was the compression stroke, I put a piece of masking tape over the plug hole, and turned the engine with the fan. When the tape blew off I knew it was on compression. Masking tape is a substitute for a thumb when you don't have an extra hand. In line spark tester will tell you that you have spark.

Book has lots of pics, and diagrams. In my reprint, some are pretty good, but others are quite dark, so difficult to see. CD pics/diagrams may be better, may not. Manual is nice to have to drag right next to what you are working on.

and distributor rotor rotation is clockwise as viewed from above

Rock Auto is usually a good deal. I just ordered parts to fix my GM truck (coolant sensor, and connector). Ordered Thursday after 4PM. I installed them today (Sat). Truck is up and running. I am waiting for spark plugs to arrive. They are coming from a different location, but were shipped on Friday. One thing you sometimes have to watch is the shipping charges. When you add items to the shopping cart they sometimes come from different warehouses, and the price can jump. Even with the two location shipping on my order it was still cheaper than napa, and the parts were in my mailbox rather than me making a 30 + mile drive just to have them a day sooner.

Rock Auto shows plugs for $1.06, to splurge at,....... $2.00. then take the %5 discount. (Current discount code listed in classified section of this site) Not sure about the shipping costs to Canada. You can plug that info in at the site.

Robert's, and Bernbaum's both show the transmission gasket set available for $14.50. They should update their sites to stop showing items that they do not have Same goes for collector's with the 381/382 bushings. Both show available, NOS. How hard can it be for them to enter a (0) in quantity? Mitchell's listed the gaskets on ebay in the recent past. $28.95 + ship. Only they would know if they do, or do not have it in stock. Collector's list the gasket set. $80 +ship, but guess that does not mean the actually have it. A forum member ordered a gasket set 2-3 months back, but never followed up with a post to provide info for this forum.

In the "reply to this topic" section, look to the right. click "more reply options" Scroll down to the "attach files" area, then "browse" your computer pics and "attach" your file. You can "preview" to see if it is to big, too small, or not there before hitting "add reply"

And be careful not to scratch the crank with the threads of the bolts if you push the connecting rod and piston up out of the way before removing the bolts.

Nothing special about the washers except the size. get them over the bolt, and they may not fit in place. I believe someone on the forum ended up using some metric lock washers, and modified them a bit. ebay seller sowaves had some of the correct ones at one time
-
Sounds like a pilot bushing. Collectorsautosupply $30 + shipping Robert's $8.00 + shipping Burnbaum $8.00 -10% + shipping Rock Auto $1.78 - $3.96 -5% + shipping Probably NAPA if you can get the right counter person $2.23 +possible shipping depending upon warehouse location.

Looks like it may be part # 957859 someone else would need to confirm that. Tell these sites what you need. they should be able to confirm your application. try: http://www.collectorsautosupply.com/search/index.htm try: http://www.mmpar.com/StoreVBVS2011/default.aspx EDIT: Both show it in stock. EDIT: may belong in http://p15-d24.com/classifieds/category/5-car-parts-wanted/?sort_key=date_added&sort_order=desc

Seems someone was in the area of the counterweights as you feel it has new springs. Could go either way. As you stated, maybe full advance early. Could be the springs were replaced, and have too much tension and will not advance Counterweight pivot area should be lubricated so weights can pivot.

You may also want to post in the forum section rather than the "Technical Archives". Possibly more response. http://p15-d24.com/forum/4-p15-d24-forum/ Edit: possibly mod would consider moving this to the p15-d24.

This may help: It says Dodge, but is a D25 which should be the same as a P15 Diagram posted in a previous thread courtesy of RalphD25cpe EDIT: and welcome to the forum.

I find pics from my computer are the easiest. In the "reply to this topic" section, look to the right. click "more reply options" Scroll down to the "attach files" area, then browse your computer pics and attach your file. You can preview to see if it is to big, too small, or not there before hitting "add reply" If you are starting a new thread, the option for pictures is already there, bottom left. If you are "quoting" a post, the "more reply options" will be there on the right. Also when "quoting", you can remove text so that just the part you want to quote is left. Same goes for pics in a quote. Just like the text that you don't want to repeat, the pics can be removed so that they are not repeated 3, 4, 5 times in the same thread. to "edit" go to the post that you want to edit: Lower right corner is Report Edit MultiQuote Quote hover the cursor over "Edit" then click on it, and edit away. Edit: spelling
