  1. Do we have to have our cams reground or are there sufficent aftermarket sources?
  2. There are old men and bold men but not too many old bold men. Bold is kneeling down before you look for an easy way to get back up! I used to grunt from exertion, now I grunt when sitting down.
  3. Is'nt that what underCoatney is for?
  4. PAH- POP -PAH-POP- Dammit-PAH-POP- somebody got to have a better way- PAH-POP-PAH-POP- there it goes! PG version but brings back wonderful memories. Your handbrake worked?
  5. Good one Ed! I thought it was because he could'nt find his Viagra!
  6. Norm, my plates maybe invalid according to this thread, I had them redone before I checked the statutes. Any nebraskans watching, help!
  7. Drove a lot of tugs in the Navair, on ship and on shore. majority of them were 302's for the ferd fans. Some were 360's, hurray for the home team! Ground support equipment is pretty heavy duty, around 9,000 lbs for a Navy tug. At least 1 1/2 plate for the body and 5/16 for the hood. Pintle hitch fore and aft, was told by my first maintenence chief that I could not back up a TA-4J into a difficult slot in the hanger. Bet him 50 and won 50, he did'nt know farm boys cut their teeth on short tongue hayracks! Double axis[two turning points] is tough if you've never done it before!
  8. I remember when I could read the paper, watch a tv program, and carry on a conversation on the side. Sometimes with more than one person. Now when I'm not sure where I'm at while driving, the radio gets turned off so concentration is maximized! Doggone it!
  9. A twenty-something passed us this morning on the way to work. She was at least 10 mph over and had her device held in both hands in the upper part of the steering wheel, texting and from what we could tell not paying much attention to her enviroment. I will never crab about a regular phone call driver again!
  10. I have a few really good neighbors, and a lot of strangers, all they do is live close by. People just are'nt folksy in town anymore. Steady on trick or treaters though, Esmey puts out a good basket of homemade candies and this year thanks to Tim, pumpkin roll for the adults, coffee if they want it!
  11. OK not more pressure, I get enough of that at home! I should have said more vaccum, it sucks, literally! Airpump 101, thanks Don.
  12. Thanks, here is where I got fried, had the input side confused, this my first car like this. I know, no excuse, just so used to 70's mopars. Forgot that the line snakes around to the front of the pump and the output is on the aft side!Thank you again for walking me through it.
  13. I always thought the output side meant where the pump put out gas, sorry not trying to confuse. Thought it was like a inline fuel filter the in is hooked towards the tank and the out goes toward the carb am I wrong?
  14. Input side comes from gas tank, output side to carb, thus the flex line would still be in position.
  15. Woolie the one I see the most often is someone crossing over the double white line that denotes a median, because city planners did'nt go with cement, etc. And then they wonder why they got T-boned!
  16. Would'nt a vaccum cannister augment the wipers so they had constant pressure?
  17. Grille off yesterday, only lost 3 angles in action. Used dremel to remove the rest of the nuts, time to massage metal! Angle work is going to be....continued at a later date!
  18. You are probably only priming the hard line and NOT the flex between the pump and the hardline. Check for kinks or seepage, tie a clean dry strip of cloth at bottam of line see if it collects gas. If you are impatient just remove line and do a visual. Hook line up to air very, very low psi plug other end and submerge. AIR bubbles mean leak. Sorry, Should have mentioned blow out flex first as it may be rotting on the inside or plugged with other debris. Do you have gas in pump bowl, and have you cleaned it and other lines back to the tank? Check for fuel filter in line some times people hide them in front of tank. Good luck!
  19. Greg, In reply to downspout post, used to have local kid clean my gutters for 20 and some of Esmey's homemade pork tamales. But one time he must have had more pressing things to do and just hosed every thing into the down spouts![springtime] Well the maple spinners got stuck in there and before you could believe it there were little trees growing in there. Split all 4 before I noticed lack of drainage! 2 words"Gutter helmet" It works well and no more ladders. Oh, sorry, no snow in Omaha just a hard freeze.
  20. Ed, parking lite is indeed on top of headlite! Good morning!
  21. How much coffee did you need to get that dime in Norm? I see 2 cans of beans in the background, are those your backups? Really neat trick! That is old school, the first guy that thought of that probably was mad he had to spend a whole dime to fix the leak.
  22. When roof is chopped, it needs a piece of metal added to the middle because the cab is narrower at the top than the base. By using 2 different cabs you eliminate the need to form or shape a filler piece. All thats needed is to cut the second cab to fill in the gap. No english wheel or other expensive metal shaping machines are needed.
  23. Texas in the 80's,when you first registered an older car either the clerk came out to read the vin or you were required to do a pencil rubbing and bring it into the dmv. This was after a vehicle inspection that had already verified your vin. I showed them the paperwork and I quote"That is a different application". They farmed out the insp. to non government shops and did not trust them enough to take their word!
  24. Looks like you have at least 3 "admirers" Bob! That's the only thing that can be a hassle on the old country roads is the double yellow line parade.
