  1. Quite some time ago I copied down many vendor's names and services in a notebook. Mostly out of Hemmings cannot remember where this 1 was acquired from. Mopar paints- enamel-1927 to 1990. This was before I decided that computers did have a good thing going on. Called tonite and the number is still good. 336-599-5155. Of couse it was later than business hours, but still got a connection. If remembered correctly, he said they could replicate military maroon from the ditzler numbers. This where pay to play comes into view, $255 a gallon, and that was about 5 years ago! Has anyone used this vendor, and if so, good or bad?
  2. I know that the tail light housings differ due to the change of the curvature of the different shaped trunk lids. That being said, it appears to me that the recess in which the handle housings fit look the same. I know this is not instant gratification but I will check the difference tomorrow between my 4 door handle and 2 door handle. Welcome aboard! PS I have a D-24, but mother mopar did not vary much in her manufacturing process they should be similar.
  3. He is currently tearing down a replacement engine for the first time Don, you should know since you've replied to that thread also, that is why there are 2 of each. pflaming just didn't reference the other thread. That is what is beening rebuilt.
  4. Now that's campin'! Esmey says I don't give a flip about where we are as long as we meet new people. We have quite a few lifetime friends that have been aquired through chance meetings, mostly on the road at state parks and such! Everyone is equal in our eyes until they prove otherwise, foolish thinking some may surmise, but what a multitude of different slants on life we have witnessed. Good and bad even the indifferent are out there. I wouldn't trade our encounters for anything.
  5. I'll take camping and a fire with new friends at the park any day over a motel full of yahoo's.
  6. Lee Exline has a site dealing with Desoto pickups, including present day trucks and big rigs made under DeSoto badging. MADE IN TURKEY and okayed by mother mopar. I googled dodge truck history and came up with Townwagon's site and it led me to Lee. Boy those pilothouse boys stay BUSY! Lots and lots of good reads, thank you fellas.
  7. SEG ? Enlighten the grasshopper Master! Was the name right?
  8. It was dodge's answer to the Cameo, it actually used styling cues from a finned station wagon of the day. Including the station wagon tailgate I believe. Was it the original "Adventurer"?
  9. Once again I didn't say it correctly, nothing new there huh fellas. Thank you for all the good info nonetheless! Numerical not model, d-24 for 3 years, not d-24& say d-26 in 1 year. That is what I was surprised to see, I thought that every year only had one numeral. Such as P-11 for 1941 I was surprsed to see an extra one p-12. I know there were different cars for export with different trim in the same year such as d-25. Always nice to store another lesson away.
  10. If leaving it "loose" allows the horns to work, maybe installing shims would make a good temporary fix. Until you can properly troubleshoot it.
  11. 1941 P-11 & P-12, 2 models in the same year?
  12. Yes but not the fancy model, couldn't you get them in the standard beds. Year?
  13. I seem to recall same fender brow&headlight configuration on dodge truck as the car featured. What year?
  14. Thank you Vets ! AMH2 CV-62 USS Independence CVN-69 USS Eisenhower
  15. Nice air cleaner's Arthur!
  16. Huck the Fuskers, HOOK EM' HORNS! I'm sorry the mark isn't what I thought it was, have fun don't get discouraged!
  17. Its about thinking outside the cannister so to speak, plenty of filters are available, it is just fun the envision a new produst or a wag. Climb out into the sunshine and take a breath of fresh air, theres more than one way to finish one's car and it doesn't have to be your way just because that is what you prefer. There are many ways to interpet how the end product should look, let me have mine, and you can have yours. PS Failure is not an option.
  18. One size fits none. If you are bowing and kinking not to mention twisting, your visor may be wider than the width of your car. take Ye Olde cutting wheel after you have measured both widths and cut to fit. Cut the ends that fit into the center section, go slowly so there is no warpage and they will slide back into place with some gentle handling. Good day and happy visoring!
  19. I don't know upside down, mount the adapter at the very top of the canister,[inside] get your filter installed, very tight clearances would be my guess. Hook up the lines and go for it. Maybe...haha hook the lines up first then the filter, and then figure out how to connect the lid? Not as hard or messy in my opinion. The original lines would still be going to the housing you know. You'll never know unless you try.
  20. Norm, just for giggles did you check for debris? On most of my old rubber lines I have found a certain degree of rot. Detrius can be detrimental. Could this build up in other places, ie; hardlines?
  21. Somebody with more $ than cents.
  22. That is not a maltese cross, don't know what it is. Sorry, FRANKIE47:o
  23. hit edit/delete your xtra post should go away.
  24. using a modern remote oil filter plumbed inside a bypass canister? Line sizes aside, mounting issues should not be too great to overcome. Just think of the canister as a stealth housing! Newstalgia is not always a bad thing. Just a couple of adapters and some tubing, I'll bet it could be done. Ain't broke don't fix it could use an update once in a while!
