  1. The holes are to drain oil that is wiped off the walls by the oil ring. The slot is an expansion slot to allow the piston to change shape and fit the cylinder better while helping reduce piston slap.
  2. Grandkids from Virginia got here this week. He's 8, she's 10. Yes, he is bigger than her. 100% boy.
  3. If the locks haven't been changed in the past, the ignition key is supposed to work in thr door locks also.
  4. Filter on the end of the pick-up tube. They call it a sock on an in-tank pump.

  6. Simply put, to someone that wants one, quite a bit. To me, $210/ton. Just kidding, but the value is mostly in the buyers eyes.
  7. It sounds to me like its got a lot of "character" and you will be very proud of what you did to revive it. Your first trip will make a great story to tell at crusie ins and shows when its all fixed up pretty.

  11. Two nitpick things; your 40 should have short hoses connecting steel elbows that really wouldn't let the hoses collapse. I realize that it could easily have been changed to one hose and eliminated all the extra clamps and pipes and should then have a spring inside. I once put two bottles of BarsLeak in a 75 Dart /6 at the Kmart parking lot. I didn't get home, 5 miles before it had plugged up the entire radiator. It said one bottle was enough but I always say, "if ones good, twos better". I always learn the hard way.

  14. That looks like a rebuilders tag.
  15. Just tossing this out there; Special DeLuxe models have stainless trim around the windshield while the DeLuxe doesn't. I find it an easy way to determine the the trim level from a distance in a junk yard.
