  1. Just below the distributor.
  2. I need a fifty gallon drum of that.
  3. If this is your first experience with six volt cars, you will probably find that they seem to turn over very slowly. Get used to it, thats normal.
  4. I think the first thing I would do is change the fuel filter. Not clean it or test it, change it.
  5. No identity, but around here its worth ten cents a pound.
  6. Steel mills are still here, they make more steel now than ten years ago. They just use a lot fewer people. Besides, they're paying my pension!! Ain't that right Scotty?
  7. Cool, a ping pong ball will do the as well.
  8. It was a 53 Cambridge, on Ralston street in Gary, in the winter of 1960. For legal purposes, there are no pictures.
  9. Been there, done that. Knocked over a tree to prove it.
  10. #1 about 85 #2 probably not #3 good idea

  15. Indeed, it's your car to do with as you wish. But don't knock putting around, some day you'll learn to enjoy it.
  16. Because putting around town is a lot of fun for some of us. Slow down and look at the scenery. When I want to go 75, I use a Buick Lucerne, more comfy than a hotrod.
  17. Likely it was galvanized steel.
  18. Usually, tapping on the side of the bearing cap/connecting rod parting line will make them separate. Try turning the crank so that the throw pushes the rod up. Tapping lightly, not hammering.
  19. Clearly, I know nothing about truck transmissions. Maybe I should visit the truck side just for educational purposes.
  20. The case to bell housing gasket is the size of the entire front of the case sealing all the holes.
  21. That is a beautiful car and lucky to have an owner like you. Obviuosly you know what you are doing and you have a great car to work with. I have been to Duluth many times and trust that you have perfectly performing brakes as all the streets lead downhill to Lake Superior! Really nice work on a really nice car!
  22. Between the input shaft bearing retainer and the transmission case is a paper gasket, 601130 that is .o11 thick. There are three bolts holding the retainer on so that te drain hole will align with the drain in the housing. Between the tnasmission case and the bell housing is a paper gasket, 852623, that seals all of the holes in the front of the case so that you don't have to seal shaft hole.
  23. Great news Bob!! Keep doing what the Drs. tell you and we'll keep you in our prayers. Everybody here is pulling for you. Party tonight!
  24. Narrow belts are also thinner and run cooler and last longer. Thats the idea, anyway.
