  1. There should also be a gasket under the front input shaft bearing retainer. It's thickness determines the end play in the shaft, but there has to be one to keep the lube from leaking. The retainer itself has to be oriented with the drain on the inside pointing down.
  2. Friends like that I don't need or want.
  3. He always seems to be saying, "C'mon, let's go. What're we waiting for?"
  4. The rivet holes are only about 3/8". It would take re-drilling to get to a size you could press studs into. So get the studs first, and then drill to the required size after you make sure there is enough hub material left. You would end up with a hub with ten pretty good sized holes in it. That might worry me. But then, I don't go around corners on two wheels.
  5. It would be an interesting experiment to connect a vacuum gauge to each separate port to see exactly how much vacuum there is individually and then hook them all together and check again for any difference there may be. Rubber hoses would make it fast and easy just for test purposes. I expect the readings will all be the same, separately and together.
  6. While you're down there, go ahead and change the oil and check that transmission linkage, too. Might want to check the clutch adjustment while you're at it. Of course, you're gonna hafta clean the floor up when you're done. Oh, and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
  7. That picture is a good example of why right side rocker panels are getting rare and expensive. And lookit that skinny tire!
  8. Here's the shine on the bird house. Easier for them to see the ad.
  9. I don't know if this is any use, but I put several coats of that on a "See Rock City" bird house that I think is made of masonite and it still looks as good as new.
  10. "I need to see what going on under the car because I hear things all the time." Rodney, have you seen the cat lately?
  11. Young Ed makes a good point. Get the seat as tight as you want it before you set the level. Then, when you connect the fuel line, use two wrenches to make sure you don't tighten it even more, since that will affect the level, and you will have less chance of stripping the threads in the bowl.
  12. Just hold it upside down to check it.
  13. Odd and meaningless, but the local Chrysler Plymouth dealer here in town started in 1928 selling Mopars and Case farm equipment. Isakson Chrysler Plymouth was unceremoniously axed after building a new dealership a few years ago.
  14. Frankenmopar. It'll be a thing of beauty when its running.
  15. If you used a metric star washer, it will change the electrons to Imperial gallons.
  16. Wooohooooo. Congratulations! A twothousandaire.
  17. No, no, I thought it over and decided not to make joke on this post. Y'all are making up your own anyway.
  18. Most states laws require trailer brakes depending onn the weight of the trailer. Here, its 1500 lbs. Over that must have brakes.
  19. Your first post says it takes 20 minutes to warm up. That means your thermostat is not closing. Change it and the stumbling and bucking caused by a cold engine will likely go away.
  20. Yeah, well, I have the only P-15 with an air bag on the passenger side.
  21. Bend the little brass finger on the float that pushes against the needle. Don't get carried away, just a 32nd of an inch or so and try it. You will be able to see the difference in the float height if you do it with the bowl full of gas. . Measuring from across the bowl top edge to the top of the float should be 5/64". Set it a touch lower, maybe 1/8", and see how it goes. You can do this with the carb on the manifold, just remove the top.
  22. Thats nothing serious. The shoes are not the exact diameter as the drums and they are vibrating because they don't hit the drum equally along their entire surface. If it were mine, I would just drive it and turn the radio up. As the shoes wear in the noise will go away. Its the noise they used on radio shows to indicate a car coming to a stop. Adjust as you like, just don't get them too tight or they will overheat.
  23. How many times are we gonna answer this question?
  24. Lack of signal at vacuum advance unit will not cause lack of spark.
  25. I am really, really sure. LEFT SIDE=DRIVERS SIDE. No question about it. Call your dealer's service department.
