  1. I do have a spring shop near by, they are going to do the work on Thursday. I think that is what they are going to do or I might just have them put new leafs in.
  2. I met a guy once at a car show who told me when he was young him and a friend had a 1950 plymouth that they wanted to junk. They drained the oil and water, took the carb off and just had the fuel line dripping into the manifold just for fun to see what would happen. The car still ran and they could not get it to seize up. I think that shows how strong these engines are!!!
  3. I ordered front springs fom www.espo.com today, they were $85 a pair. My front springs sagged so much that I cant get my new tires to fit. The rear leafs also sagged and no longer have an arch in them. I am sure it was not a good idea to be driving the car like this. Front Rear
  4. Ok sounds easy enough, I should receive the new sender this week. Ill keep you guys posted.
  5. What is the part number of the optima battery that you guys use? and is it a red, yellow,or blue top?
  6. I think it looks great, and if you do the vertical stripes up top it will look good also. You can even do the center cap on your steering wheel and outer horn ring.It makes the car stand out from the others.I have used red paint on some of my trim, looking at yours makes me want to do more.
  7. I plan on using his instructions
  8. I just ordered the modern sender, I will let you guys know how it turns out
  9. Norm, that's not the same Bugatti from chasing classic cars the one on the show was owned by the Strauss family and sold at auction for around 700 or 800 thousand. It does look like the same car
  10. Yes,but new
  11. I have an ac with the paper filter
  12. How many people are using a glass bowl fuel filter under the hood? I have one but not sure If I should install it, I know it will add to the look though.
  13. That's funny I have that same motor in my boat, A mercruiser 470
  14. I plan on doing this with my spare once I have my new tires on. The paint should stay nice being that it wont be used much. It will just look pretty in the trunk
  15. Was outside before playing around with the floor jack, I jacked the car up a few inches and the new tire fit right in and looked real good! I measured from the bottom of the front bumper to the ground and it was 16.5 inches. Does that sound about the right height? Or should it be a little lower?
  16. That's funny I also saw that on e-bay
  17. I installed new front and rear shocks a few months ago and that helped with the ride alot, with new springs I hope the ride will be even better. I was thinking maybe they cut the springs to match the sagging rear leaf springs or do you think the front and rear sagged together?
  18. The height from the bottom of the stainless molding to the ground is only 7.5 inches.
  19. Here is a pic from under the car. Look how the brake line is bent, this also makes me think the car is low. What do you guys think?
  20. The tires that I have on the car now are 25.5 inches tall and the front bumper sits 11 inches off the ground from the bottom of the bumper. I don't think the car was lowered I just think the springs and leaf springs have lost their spring. When looking at the rear leaf springs there is no arch in them they are completly flat, they look original so do the front springs. Here is another pic with the tires I have on now
  21. Okay thanks, It looks like he might start working on the car next Monday or Tuesday, Ill keep you guys posted.
  22. So I went to the tire shop to get the tires mounted turns out that the car has been lowered or the springs just sag so much that the tires will not fit. Luckily someone told me about a spring shop in the next town over. I drove over to the shop and turns out the shop is run by an older man and he is more then willing to help me out. I think he was surprised that I want the car raised because most people my age (29) would want the car as close to the ground as possible. He was also very impressed with the tires that I found on e-bay(never saw radials that looked like that). He said that the rear will be no problem but he sounded like there might be a problem up front (I guess finding the right springs maybe). Does anyone know what size springs are the stock size for the front?
  23. They are radials, here are some numbers off the tire hope they help. 7.00 R 15 SL717 RK 230 DOT U2NV 7K6V1708
  24. That's a nice radio also
  25. I just measured the 700x15 tires and it looks like they stand 29 inches high and the tread width is 5 inches. If the weather is good tomorrow I will get them mounted and installed, I will also post pics.
