i have read alot about smittys and dynomax, but what is the nearest sound to a original muffler?

i wasnt saying it was offensive... i was just commenting on how micheal is responded to around here. that link wasnt realy that helpful, the comment about only 2 sources was much more useful, and the pictures illistrate everything nicely. the google link was not really that informative, but if i want a gas strap for a 95 plymouth i know now where to look now. it seems like a waste of time to put something like that one here.

does that still work with out the kick down switch? do you have to rengage the overdrive if it drops out becuase the govener? for example: with the hy-drive i can start and leave it in second and as i drive around town. with the overdrive installed will it switch in and out of overdrive as i come to a complete stop at lights? or will i have to turn it on and off? so my second gear really becomes 2 speeds? what is the final ratio of the overdrive? .65?

hum that might explain the wet carpet i will check in to that. how does the govener work on these units. does it automaticly cut in and out at a certain speed?

that came with it, so the linkage part is what will hit the button when i floor it?

i recived my "new" overdrive and the install kit to convert my non overdrive car. how does the unit work? whats the 3 way switch for? the pull handle? how /where does the push button get installed? what is the carb/throtle linkage piece for?

im not taking sides here but.... every family's got a red head step child, and the way you ,micheal, get treated around here shows you are it around here. my momma would slap some manners into me if did some of the things i see happening here.

okay, im right there with you, i just got all of that stuff back from tennesee valley clutch. they rebuilt the entire clutch for 65, and the bearing was 15 i think. why dont you just ship them you old presure plate. i had good luck finding all the seals at mitchell autoparts, in ga. let me know if i can be of any assistance. i just started putting my hydrive back together and i am hoping that i dont have any new leaks.

as i upgrade to my overdrive transmission, i will need to shorten my driveshaft. what would i need to do upgrade to a modern style driveshaft while im at it. is this a part that can be bought at someplace like summit. who would yall reccomend to shorten a driveshaft and what should i be expecting to pay just to shorten the driveshaft, and what does it cost to upgrade it?

tim, the vent windows are the only seals i did not replace. so yours are most likely better then mine.

tim why do you not like the under dash units?

tim i have replaced the door seals and windows seals and still have noise at 65+ but not below. it seem to be comming from the piovit point on the vent windows on the front doors.

Have yall switch to a manual function, or is there a subsitute that automaticly adjusts? by the way if you snap the line going to the temp, you have to air out your car quickly, douh....

I am wonder if it is something as easy as switching out the gear housing so that i can install the factory saftey switch. with the toruqe convertor and no saftey switch this thing will start up and keep on going. trust me i know ask my badly damaged lawnmower and garage wall, from when i was rewiring the car and did not have the saftey installed. i hate to open up my new transmission though.

do they have clutch saftey switch? what prevents them from starting in gear?

my hydrive transmission has one it is built into the gear selector housing, maybe i can just switch out the housings

does the over drive transmission have provisions for a reverse light hook up and a neutral saftey switch? like the later 3 speeds do?

in a previous post i commented on my ability to move a front wheel left to right 1/4" when only one tire was jacked off the ground. the forum responce was tie rod's were bad, but last night when it was on ramps and i was under it i grabed the outer tie rod and wiggled it and there was no play. so how do you know when a tie rod is going out?
