  2. Look up Jim Shepard's pictures in the members photos. I believe he has pictures there. He posts here regularly too, so you might PM him if you can't find any photos. 48D Above is the link "Vist DEPTCA", Then click "Pilothouse Gallery", then go through the member files until you find who you're looking for. here's a direct link to Jim's pics. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/gallery/v/shepard/
  3. I might have one from a '48 I'm tearing down right now. I'm kinda behind in getting other parts out....I'll try and post a picture to show its condition. 48D
  4. Hey Mike, Glad to see you here! If you haven't found it already, there is a link in the tool bar at the top of everypage. "Visit DPETCA". When you get there, click on the "Pilothouse House Knowlegde" button and you'll find different info on the trucks. By the way, nice ride. 48D
  5. Actually Bud....I was thinkin' a water truck for the racetrack at my house. I have a 1/8 mi. oval track for ATV's and Racing Lawnmowers. Gets dusty sometimes and a water truck has been on my mind for awhile. lol. (sorry Shepard, its the only excuse I got, it's a diseeeeeeease). 48D

  9. Are those from a 54 or 55 maybe? That 1 picece looks like the shape of the upper hinge area of the door. The other ones remind me of the interior roof trim. hmmmmmm.....? 48D
  10. Might be to early to mention, but are you keeping the turn signals? I have a thing about those I guess. And how bout the beds rails....gonna cap'em off or leave'em open? Truck is really startin' to look kick ass! Nice work Bud. 48D

  13. Holy Crap!!! I want it all !!!! I could dream all day with that stuff in my yard. Maybe I'll just buy his place and move to Austin. lol. 48D
  14. The biggest thing you will notice, is the lack of aftermarket support for the Dodge trucks. Otherwise, the knowledge here is as good or beats anything out there on the internet. We all spend time on other websites, but this is where your truck will be the most at home. lol. Bud is using a Dakota frame, but it involves replacing the orginal firewall with the Dakota's. I have yet to see a truck with the firewall that hasn't been moved, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done. I was toying with the idea of moving the engine forward on a volare type front end, keeping the wheelbase the same, but the weight distrubution wasn't the best. So, I'm using a 92 Dakota firewall like Bud's. Welcome to the Forum and welcome to MOPAR! Here's a few links that might help. 48D http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14259 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=15472 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=15710 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=14699 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=12306 http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=13524

  18. Hey Bud, You cut and paste'd the frame with the cab on? Or did you take your measurments from underneth? I realize its a Dakota frame, how did you determin the "cut" location? Got your E-brake bracket saved for ya. Let me know when yer ready fer it. 48D

  20. Cool...time to break out the camera and share. 48D
  21. I would check it for stress cracks, repairs, and alignment. If you're gonna go with a larger motor...box it. If you're going with a stock set-up, make sure rust isn't hiding in the mouting points of the suspension, etc....I believe there was a thread with pics concerning stress repairs between the cab and box. 48D
  22. Hey Woodscavenger, You've got a great blog going over there! I've had it in my favorites for awhile now. You still haven't said if you got the truck tagged yet. It is well past Feb.....! 48D
  23. Must in the timing like you said. a backfire through the carb or tailpipe is usally a spark in the wrong place. Did you check your valve clearances? 48D
  24. Great Pictures Harvey! Really put a smile on my face. 48D
  25. "Stick machines and sheet metal do not mix." Told you it was a lost art. Try a 5/32 6013 (DC) on sheet metal. Its not as "hot" as 6010 and lays down a better weld. It's good up to 3/16. I hardly consider Arc welding "old school", and MIG doesn't stand for "Magic In Gas". Arc welding will give you skills that will make your MIG and TIG welds a whole lot better. Like I said IMHO. 48D Miller Syncrowave 200- TIG/ARC Got a 110 MIG too.....
