  1. You got it Don. Just let us know when you're passing through and I'll get the "Caly Locals" together for a improptu Mopar Meet. Just don't forget to bring your reccent hip x-rays so I can get you cleared to climb into my RaceCar. 48D
  2. Hey Don Coatney!!!! Its getting close to the "Q'.....you gonna be "somewhere on the road" near California? We'll tweak that T-5 of yours and set you up with one of them super rare "SpitsFire" racing heads if "y'all" show up. That should help you keep up with us trucks on the straight aways, or at least help you make it through the intersection before the lights change. lol. 48D
  3. Been tryin to get my brother to buy them. I think either way Claude should bring'em to the BBQ. Sure to get an impulse buy. Probably be me..lol. 48D
  4. Gonna start strippin' down the frame this weekend...should be to much longer for the brackets. 48D
  5. OK...I think im getting closer....trim brackets. These are photos of Ford emblem trim brakets. Are the ones Bob posted Dodge? I don't know...but i'm getting closer. 48D-tective:D
  6. uh oh....did paul say something wrong??? 48D:D
  7. Those are Claude's Trucks. He's a member of this site and is helping his son build a PH as we speak. Both he and his son are real stand up guys, they came down early and help set-up the BBq at my ranch last year and offered again this year. Someone really needs to buy these trucks from him! I know the money will help finish the other one they have. 48D
  8. They look like a locking type bracket (educated guess). I haven't seen one on any of my trucks, but looks like you put a carriage bolt through the square hole, and lock it down with with a sheet metal screw with the round end. There's a bracket like that on my son's 72 Roadrunner for the A/c. 48D
  9. Bob? You ever live in Mahomet, IL...? Apperently you left your truck there and someone's selling it! lol:D 48D
  10. That's right, 150,000 times better. Something you can be proud of cuz you did it yourself. Perfection is in the eye of the beholder, and it sounds like deep down, you're having a blast. 48D
  11. I'm guessing the reason you asked the question about original color, is because you are trying to keep it original? Or at least have a working knowledge of orginal? I haven't seen an option sheet for 1948 trucks, but I'll bet black was the default color if you didn't order the truck. Nothing wrong with black, it really sets off the red in the center of the hub caps. But either way, in the end, its your truck to drive. Restore it to orginal specs, than paint it "plum crazy" , that'll get'em talkin'. 48D
  12. What are talkin about? We all get to break stuff around here, it's in the rule book. Well.....it should be in the rulebook. We have a rulebook right? Good thread guys. 48D
  13. Don't sweat it Bob, post as often as you want. It's why we're here, right? 48D
  14. I live 3 miles from the town of Clements, and 14 miles from Lodi, Ca. but because I'm on a "dividing road" I get a Lodi address. So I guess I can lay claim to being from the town of the original A&W. Great burgers and the owner is a hot rod guy for sure. I used to belong to American Steel, a local car club. They put on a hellva car show there in the streets and parking lots of downtown Lodi. 48D
  15. Maybe not a "bolt in" but a good swap is the late 60's 70's 8.75 rear-end. They seem to still be floating around the wrecking yards and such. You'll have to swap perches too (ie cut and re-weld truck perches on the 8.75). I think a few guys have used the ford 9" of course, but I like keeping things mopar. I've noticed your that your frame has a bunch of rust wear. Maybe you'll end up going with a Dakota or S-10 frame as others have suggested. The axle you plan on using may chage, if you do. 48D
  16. Hey Moparvern, I lived in Santa Rosa for about 15 years. Feel free to look me up if you can make it out this way sometime. I'm about 2 hours away. You have a website? 48D
  17. Ok then....until I hear otherwise, they got your name on 'em. 48D
  18. I agree with Merle...lot of members signed on last night. Seems though it shouldn't have been a problem....??? The guys who had problems, maybe it was more than a dail-up problem? I didn't see any delay in my posts. I use Hughes-Net (satt) cuz of lousy "land line" consistancies and no available cable. Just curious. 48D
  19. I have a pair that will be off a truck in about a month. I'm sure someone might have them now, but if not, check back with me. 48D
  20. It is a good looking truck. Funny, the whole deal seems vintage except for those "bitchin' rims".......lol. 48D
  21. The picture doesn't lie. Bob Koch and I were checking this truck out before I bought it and the first thing we noticed was the incredible shape the stainless steel is in. Same goes for the grille and fenders.... Can't wait to get a door Reg. First thing I'll do is rattle can it yellow. lol. ~48D
  22. Just wanted to share my new favorite picture. "The New Guy", is classified as "yard art" for now, but that doesn't seemed to bother my dog Red. He became fond of it as soon as my son and I got'im into place. Can't call him "Ol' Yeller" that's Reg's truck. Red is big, and so is the truck, so "Big Yeller" comes to mind. Red is a 200 pound Mastif/Rott (roman rott) he almost makes the truck look like a 1/2 ton.lol 48D Big Brother The three sisters are gone (in the shop being turned into 1 truck) but it was a good run. 1.5 years as yard art.
  23. nice pictures. I saved the ones of the trucks. thx wallytoo 48D
  24. Ed and I were just chatting online about that. I'm moving it tomorrow and hopfully it will reside in waiting as "yard art" in a comfortable spot til I get to it. Reg is helping me get a door so I can cut down on the rabbits that seem to be found of the protection of the bench seats! The "Three Sisters" are history as far as yard art goes. I'm in the middle of restoring the 50 for me and parting out the others for members of the forum. So that just leaves the two big boys. Sorry Pats, didn't mean to fill your thread with so many pictures of my trucks. Guess I was in a mood to share. 48D
  25. Thanks for the kind words guys. His nickname is "Big Brother". 48D
