  1. WOW! Is an insufficient answer to all three pictures. That mountain range is spectacular.
  2. Well Frank, what can I say, a Texan in Omaha must do something besides eat the very best steaks anywhere, "Go Huskers"!
  3. Hey, how did the Kodak hunt go?
  4. Nice work Casper. In my personal opinion there are three over rated items, dynammat, Por 15, and new paint to replace OP! LOL
  5. I have used it and a rain gutter sealer tape at .25 of DM's cost. No more dynamat for me. In my experience if it's advertised in a car magazine, it's over priced.
  6. It's not very often when a professional repairman shows others his tricks of the trade. Kevin, you are one of very few. TKS. When my truck burned, Kevin sent me a complete new set of gauges and refused payment for them. Note the speedometer, he did that also.
  7. This is a 47/48 T124 engine so the tall intake makes sense, the vacuum port, ?? Maybe wiper vacuum.
  8. Yes. I had to redesign and refabricate my shifter for an R10 overdrive. It is mechanically 99% completed. It had to be mounted forward of the large solenoid. Paul
  9. Last night I noted a couple of differences in this manifold. 1) what is the purpose of the nipple in the side of the center, 2) that center appears to be larger and higher than other manifolds I have. Your response is requested.
  10. "Gently as it goes" is very accurate, but so difficult to do. For the most part, I now have very little pain, especially during the day when I'm semi active, night is different, so I feel ok then forget that automobile rims and tires are no no's! Back to the brakes, I think I'll pull off that entire brake assembly and put on discs, I really like the ones on my truck, great coming down the mountain grades, always pull straight to stop, no adjusting, maybe someone can use this entire assembly. Today I'll pull the rear drums, that's a bit more challenging, will need to get out my puller. Maybe go discs there also. It's like Shakespeare wrote, "Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow beats this thing called life!" Got to check out Rusty Hope on rear disc brake plates. Chow!
  11. The drum is off. These shoes have not seen much use and the drum appears to be near new, never turned. It has spring around the outside, new to me.
  12. Old brake lines are NOT to be trusted! These are the ends from my front brakes flex hoses. I wonder what lurks behind the drums?
  13. I'm back on the suburban but must be very careful. I have my front ready for engine reinstall for later this week.
  14. Did the storm affect any forum members?
  15. I'm not selling any extra parts, I have a cabinet of duplicates and some triplicates so I am not cutting myself short. Yet, thanks for the reminder.
  16. In this pic, the top fork is in forward position which is R or 1. To the discerning eye, does all look good to go. Does an overhaul mean largely new seals and gaskets, maybe solenoid and / or governor?
  17. Both input shafts are 9", good news. Today I opened up the shifter cover. In this OD when the two forks are in line then the selector arm can raise the shifter arm to select R & 1. The bottom forks are 2&3 and to that the shifter always returns. I hope the drawings are understandable.
  18. If memory serves me right, there is some debate about the amount of oil that is pumped through the filter. Some contend that Fram was the greater benefactor of this early design.
  19. I copied Don's oil gauge idea so I have no issues with the starter. I like the oil guage on the block, it eliminates going to the inside to check after an oil changes, etc. The gauge is a bit askew in the photo, since it is on a T fitting, the line into the cabin comes off the top of the T.
  20. It has been said that every good joke has an element of pain in it! LOL
  21. Looks like it is about 9" deep/long so which housing is it, Plymouth? So, since I have a car cross member, it appears I could attach this housing and cross member to my trucks engine, then make appropriate mounts on the truck's frame and have an overdrive, that interests me
  22. This overdrive transmission bolts to this red T 124. 1947/48 truck engine. Maybe someone put a different clutch housing on the .engine.
  23. In better times, Plymouthy Adams would tell me, "The internet is your friend". So, went to the internet to answer my question. So my spare P25 *. 21519 is a 230 cu in engine, interesting. [Thanks Bob] ! So what to do with it. Model Designation: Six Cylinder Plaza 6 - P25-1 Savoy 6 - P25-2 Belvedere 6 - P25-3 Wheel base: 114 Valve Location: In block Bore and Stroke: 3.2500 x 4.625 Piston displacement, Cubic Inches: 230
  24. I have two extra complete engines. One is " P25 * 21519" which is a '54 Plymouth engine. The other is a "T142 * 48627" which is a late '40's 1/2 T truck engine. So then what if any difference is there between these two engines? The pic is the T142 * 48627" engine.
  25. So then another 218?
