    Last night after dinner I connected the electrical harness to the battery. I did that when I wired the dash. Once connected, the dash came alive. I turned the key and the starter turned on, wow. Electrical always concerns me which is why I used a harness from EZ wiring. Now to connect all the lights.

    Now that I know exactly where the seats go, I can complete the shifter handle.

    Very few threads have taught me as much as this one. For instance, the tutorial on how a bit works, the many ways to dull a bit, how to drill out a, whatever by using progressively larger bits, that drilled incorrectly, a bit can chip off a piece of material so large the bit can't eject it, etc,etc,etc,. I will not forget this thread. Thank you to all who contributed.

    Interior update. Its starting to come together. Just held in by a couple of screws for now.

    One broke yesterday, what works to drive the out? Heat first?

    Hinge pin broke, so best replace all. What works in order to drive them out, heat first?

    Steering wheel color experiment. P.S. To day the passenger door top hinge pin broke. Since that one broke, spect I should remove the doors and check the other three. Bummer, one more thing to repair.

    There is a 25" engine and transmission on Modesto, CA craigslist now. Asking price is a steal, $200 OBO.

    I also did as Jersey explained. I do the same to remove and replace the fan. And the starter on my truck.

    I like this thread. We chuckle today, but those fixes were of survival years. I've heard tell that coffee grounds would fix a leaking radiator.

    Dash will look great in this setting. Pic is prior to headliner sound deadening.

    We put sound deadener in the headliner today. Will ad some trim pieces to the edges and a broad piece down the center. A permanent one later. This view will drastically change tomorrow when the side panels and bucket seats go in.

    Thankyou RNR and Frank. Big day today. My son and his two kids will put sound deadener in, panels will be tricked out for Sunday install, floor sear panels installed and bucket seats also. That will complete 90% of the interior. I have an appointment with DMV on The 4th. Exciting times. The pic below will look very different tomorrow. I have had most of the cargo area hardware zinc plated. That will really dress it up.

    Weather is quite different here in Central Valley . Temp at sundown was 50.degrees. I took this picture around noon today.

    In the next week or 10 days I'm going to Lamont, ca to look at a stash of 50 old cars. I have no idea what is there, and will add information when available. My question is this. Does anyone in the general location want to join me?

    Update: worked on roughing in the interior side panels today.

    Is the overdrive the only way to have less than 1:1 engine to drive shaft ratio? Are some five speed transmissions in effect overdrives in gear five?

    Some years ago we went to Germany and London and too our 10 year old boy (keith) along. We were staying beach side and one Suday afternoon he strolled the beach. Later that day, we were driving along said beach and my wife noted to her mother the topless sunbathers . Keith responds, "I was on that beach, this person in front of me turned and faced me, Boy, he sure didn't look like Glenn ( his older brother)! That said, your pics need to be studied along side the car, because, "They sure don't look . . . "

    Lots of shill bidding and deadbeat bidders make eBay interesting. please define shill and deadbeat. I would guess those are really non buyers. Shill is a person who is hawking to drive up the price. Not surprising, so how does a buyer and seller know?

    The waterfalls in Yosemite will be full by then I plan on coming via Yosemite Valley. I need a picture of my truck with El Capitan in the background.
