  1. Sorry, no. I never really worried about any improvments, just what needed to be done at the time.
  2. Front doors now latching. It's had to see the strike area but I welded in a 1/8" plate and blended to the jamb (some mud will help fill in the places that look ugly) and rounded and smoothed for a "original" look.
  3. I decked my head 0.030 when I rebuilt...also depends on if the head has been decked before.
  4. Good job, I have 4 windows I've been playing with for TODD and it doesn't take much for things to get bound up, mixing and matching got me to a good place. But I'm betting once I get them remade I'll have to tweak like you did.
  5. Too bad it will be a year or so till I can install.
  6. back when first working on FEF whilst gatherin parts, I bought a NOS wiper switch from one of the more "reputable" epay sellers...never got it, no proof of delivery and never got anything out of it. Needless to say, I stopped buying from them.

    Twosday

My dad! I rememebr B&W TV, moon landings and the Vietnam evac. Most young 'uns nowdays don't even know what a dial telephone is.
  8. you can: post a want add in calssified section watch epay call the normal places that supply UOS (used old stock) like DCM, or potentially NOS like Roberts. Facebook has several groups for this era of truck and parts flow pretty quickly there as well.
  9. I see you hid the lower grill bar strategically. LOL
  10. You can make a vent window truck door a non vent by cutting out the pieces of metal that the bottom pivot mounts to (and remove the vent window hardware). The U felting can then run down and seal the window. But you would need the front chanel as well as the bottom window channel for a full window set up.

It was my orbit day as well (I oddly wish people happy orbit day). 2/22/68 2+2+2 = 6 2^3 = 8 and all on a TWOsday lol
  12. Just sand SLOW, you can overheat the glass and affect the laminate adhesive bond to the glass....
  13. And now driver side...always funny that the 2nd time thru takes 1/8 the time! And seats at least set in the cab.
  14. passenger power window in
  15. I've gently heated up the glass/channel area with a propane torch and got it to loosen up that way. My 51 I had to have the glass reset with a modern eurethane (tapes just kept not holding the glass).
  16. Yes, you can use welds to heat deflect metal parts. I did this on the tip front for TODD to bring the pivot bits back in line after welding all the other bits on, then grinding the welds off.
  17. I have edited your post, requests to purchase or sell parts are not ot be on the main forum (see posting rules at the top of the page). Please PM the person this was directed towards.
  18. Cut out the B1/2 inside door window sill details and replaces with bit from the donor doors for the project. I am especially proud of the driver side. No warp or heat deflection! Passenger side I got a little over zealous with the hammer and dolly in 2 spots prior to grinding the welds down.
  19. No reason to not do the original mounts IMO unless you are doing a drastic change to the power plant. With these small flatties engine twist is very minimal. Your truck though, do what you want! ?
  20. sorry I haven't heard of anyone
  21. New(?) vendor for stamped tailgate repops. Seem to be a bit better priced that the other guys out there https://www.classicent.com/dodge/
