  1. Hey 48D.....Hows about some dirt track Pilot House circle racing ?
  2. Beautiful truck and engine you're building 37 Dodge !!!!! Where'd you find that 25" Edmonds head?
  3. Anyone know for sure what the rear end ratio would be on a 51 or 52 Suburban?
  4. Here's one on eBay right now. I was going to bid on it but will not if you want a stab at it Jim. The seller told me he made a mistake on the shipping and that it would be more like $36.00 to Ca. eBay # 110177095482
  5. Hey....that's a nice one. Very straight and no rustout.
  6. Yeah but I thought you were trying to stay as stock as possible Jim.
  7. Gosh Norm......Guess I'm gonna have to drop a dime on you with the C.P.S.
  8. Jim, That doesn't look like any truck heater I've seen in the 48-53 models. My 52,56,57 and 58 trucks have the same type heater as shown below. Sorry about the blurry photo....I was teetering on a ladder to get this photo. In your firewall photo you can see the factory knock outs for this heater. Make me an offer if interested. It still has the factory paint on it!
  9. Hey Jim, Here's a shot of the firewall with the mounting bolts and water lines for my Model 65 heater. One of these days I'll hook up the fresh air parts. What's your Model 70 look like?
  10. Check with Roberts Motor Parts or Andy Bernbaum for the throw out bearing. Can't help on your flywheel question.
  11. Nope. I do have a 1 ton but it's a lovely shade of rust. I found this one with a Google image search.
  12. A couple gallons of laquer thinner has done the trick for me. Dump it in and close off the openings so It doesn't evaporate and let it sit for a day or two. Don't use any flame heat !!!!! pour some down the pickup tube too so it will be working on the blockage from both ends.
  13. Chucky, Did you get it running yet?
  14. NOPE.......I wouldn't allow my truck to hold a candle to that. It does give me an idea for paint stripping though.
  15. Well... thanks for clearing that up for me Don. Now I know why my truck makes so much noise while breaking wind in 4th gear.
  16. Well...never more than a couple hundred miles round trip but over a 10 year period driving to and from various job sites I've put about 20K on my rebuilt (Kragen Auto) 251 Chrysler flattie installed in Ole Yeller without any problems other than a failed starter just this year. It seems to run on and on and on just like that last sentence.
  17. My truck lists a bit towards the port side. How would that translate to the windward side? Perhaps some standardization of PILOTHOUSE terms are in order here.
  18. The 60.5" is from a 1/2 ton 108" wheelbase The 68.5" is from a 3/4 ton 116" wheelbase The 39" is probably from a stake side or flat bed. Note. the 53 running boards are I think a 1 year only size and are a little shorter than the 44-52's to accomodate the larger 53 rear fenders. Then in 54 the surface of the boards changed to little bumps.
  19. Hey, that is a cool website ! I see they missed this one. It's in the movie North by Northwest with Cary Grant.
  20. Dale, The bolt circle center to center is 4 3/8" approx. 5 on 4 3/8". Same as your 48 B1B.
  21. David, Bryans seat is wider than your 46 Dodge seat. The Pilot House cabs were wider by several inches than the Job Rayed era trucks and were advertised as a true 3 person cab. You'll want to join this group too www.39-47dodgetrucks.com Lots of helpful members and several in your neck of the woods. PS...congrats on the purchase of your new truck !
  22. I do have a couple of 16" rims with the hub cap clips on them. Let me know when ya wanna come up.
  23. Jim, How tall are your tires? I have 750 x 16's on one here and they are 31" in diameter. Quite a difference in rpm compared to a 650 or 700. Maybe one of my junkers down the hill would have a better ratio. Come and have a look sometime.
