  1. Nice photos Jim. What route did you take to avoid all the traffic ?
  2. Maybe this link will help. http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/tengines.html
  3. Well, a 25" motor must have been transplanted in the 51 Pickup unless maybe it was from Canada. The truck engine numbers for that era started with a T so I can't find your number for you in my engine list. A stock engine # for a 51 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup sould be T306. Check that number again.
  4. I think 51 was the first year that a 4 speed syncro was offered. I'll have to agree that the grinding sounds like a clutch problem. You can id a syncro trans by looking at the drain plug. If the plug is level with the ground it's a syncro. If the plug angles down it's a non syncro. Here's a photo of that drain plug on a syncro.
  5. Great photo and story Merle. Is the farm still in the family?
  6. Hey...you should check the engine number. It might be a 265 and the head may have been milled already for higher compression.
  7. Larry, I have a good used 1/2 ton running board for the passenger side available for sale. If interested send me a PM. Reg
  8. I've found that older ford car rims are compatable with older dodge trucks but older ford trucks rims are 5 on 5 and won't work on our trucks.
  9. San Pedro Blue which may be the color it is now.
  10. Maybe your floor board came from a heavier duty truck and those holes served some purpose there. I think the only one you're gonna use on your 1/2 ton is the one on the right with the clip in it to bolt the 2nd floor board to.
  11. Good news Kevin. You should probably figure out why the water was in the oil before you run it though. Do that compression test first.
  12. The head gasket may have blown. Have you done a compression test? I wouldn't bother trying to start it until you've done this test. If it's a blown gasket it's easy to install a new one. Did you install the needle in the carb inlet? I doubt that your trans needs rebuilding. Clutch maybe. Please keep that sbc out of your brain and truck !!!!!
  13. Hey, I just noticed that your truck has a fluid drive emblem. Does the truck still have the fluid drive?
  14. OK....OK....you won that one. This time I propose we use push mowers. I'll bet you won't want to pass up my entrant this time.
  15. Greg, I was drooling over this one at this summers car show at the local fairgrounds. No sidemount spare though.
  16. Look here at some exploded views of the carb. Sounds like your needle valve is missing or stuck open. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/ph_parts/b_14.pdf Reg
  17. Beautiful job Steve! Does yours have a 315 Poly under that hood? Here's a photo of my 58 I've owned for maybe 3 years now. One of these days I'm hoping to have mine be as purdy as yours. Hey...so far we're gettin away with being a decade off topic.
  18. I'm tired of being a thousandaire so I'm in !!
  19. Nice Dodge truck Steve ! Is it a 1958 ?
  20. Mike, Someone here or on the other forum might have one abailable. Any photos available of your 48 ? We'd all love to see it. When you get a chance fill out a profile too so we know a little more about you, your 48 and your location.
  21. Yes, rent that puller and heat the hub up with a propane torch if the puller doesn't do it alone.
  22. You got that right Jim ! Here she is sandblasting a truck for me. She's also a very good cook as evidenced by this photo.
  23. Click on "Visit DPETCA" in the header on this page and then scroll down to Pilots Knowledge. You'll find this there thanks to Bob Koch. http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/ph_parts/pilothouse.htm
  24. That date sounds good to me too. Jim, I bought the mower last Dec. and finally had it hauled here a couple of weeks ago. It's actually not a mower, it's a tower.
  25. "Reg, I'll race you in anything, any day! lol. How about Lawn Mower races for fun?" You're on !!!! But could we change the race to a lawn mower distruction derby ? Here's my mower.
