  1. I see it has an ash tray also, another rare item.
  2. I wasn't sure if I was one that verbally comitted to buy the spare tire hardware, so just to be sure I ordered it. By the way, I just received my Pilot-House T-shirt in time for Christmas. Woo Hoo!!! Jim Roach
  3. My mistake. Thanks for the heads up. Come on guys, let's get these shirts ordered and start the new year showin off our trucks! MOVE IT, MOVE IT, MOVE IT!!!!!
  4. Ordered my shirt the other day. I received an email today telling me they are out of stock. Might not get here in time for Christmas.
  5. Just ordered my shirt. Nothing like buying your own Christmas gift but I have been a good boy this year so I guess I deserve it. I'll let my wife wrap it and give it back to me. Merry Christmas to everyone!! Jim Roach
  6. Go for it all Charles. Keep all the original parts for the future. Enjoy the comfort and catch a wave for me, missing it out here on the east coast. Jim Roach
  7. I think Reg has a set of these on one of his trucks.
  8. I just became a third time Pappy. Nothings better than family. This is what we live and work for. My grandson (9 yrs old) wants my truck to take to collage. He said he can move his "stuff" easier in a truck than in a car.
  9. Just checked, the same wheel size 16X7 is $999.95 each:eek:
  10. This is a classic "frame up" restoration not a "frame off" restoration. This is kind of a short cut to a great looking truck.
  11. Try American Modern Insurance Group. They have a daily driver option. This is the company I place my customer's classic cars with.
  12. Todd, I agree with you. I keep expecting someone to post an "I gotch ya". They just wanted to see how far it would go with the discussion. Jim
  13. Jon, I have a "53" box that is in pretty good shape (except for the floor) depending on your wheel base. I'm up here in Pa. so, all things considered, I'm not that far from you. Check the length of you box and we'll see if they are the same. Thanks, Jim Roach
  14. I have been in the insurance business for over 35 years. I never insure a classic vehicle on an insured's daily driver policy unless it is driven as a daily driver. Even then most of the time you can only insure it to ACV (actual cash value) in other words it's just another old truck. Most regular insurers do not have the underwriting experence to cover these vehicles correctly. Let this be a lesson to everyone in the club. If you have your truck on the same policy as your daily driver call your agent and see if they carry an insurance company that specializes in classic vehicles. If they don't check on line, there are plenty of them. Review the restrictions carefully, they very from company to company. You will need to submit pictures. I take the pictures of my customer's vehicles myself and I take a lot of them. I have never had a problem with a claim. These companies know that there is much more to our paint work, suspension mods...etc than the vehicle we drive to work everyday. They also know that we baby our vehicles much more that our daily drivers too. Do yourselves a favor and get your classic vehicle insured with a classis car insurance company with agreed value coverage. The key to this type of policy is that all of the underwriting work is done before there is a claim not after the claim. Both you and the insurance company come to an agreement so if and when you have a claim most of the work is already complete. You will not be sorry. Jim Roach
  15. Welcome to the forum Jeff. Where abouts in So Cal are you from? Good luck with your truck, I have a 52 myself. Jim Roach
  16. If I can get my brakes working by then I'll do my best to be there. Jim Roach:)
  17. Hey Dave, Great looking truck. You can tell you spent a lot of time and hard work doing it right. Next time I'm in Broken Arrow to visit my mother and sister I'll have to look you up. My brother-in-law is a cowboy and my sister works at the post office right there in Broken Arrow. I have parts on my 52 that came off of a truck that I drug from Broken Arrow all the way back here to Pa. It was a real haul but worth it for the parts I got. I still have the box if anyone out there needs one. I'll give it to a needy member for a price they can't say no to. Welcome to the club. Jim Roach
  18. I would like to know more about this guy also. Curious about the cost!
  19. Thanks Don, that is what I plan to do.
  20. I have a T5 from a Chevy S10 that has a long front retainer. If I understand it correctly all I need to do is cut the retainer to the correct length. I have two questions. When removing the front retainer do I just need to remove the four bolts and slip it off over the input shaft? What is the correct length the retainer needs to be cut? Thanks for the help, Jim Roach
  21. Submerged it in VERY hot water aaaand (wait for it)..... no bubbles!!!! Time to put it all back together. Thanks to everyone for your help.
  22. I've got my carburetor disassembled, cleaned, and ready for paint. While I'm working on the paint I wanted to "test" the float as I have read should be done. How do I accomplish this?
  23. Thanks for the help. Gave it a shot of WD40, let it set for a while and it came right out. Thanks again, Jim
