  1. Good Morning, I am not 100% sure but what i have seen in the wiring for my 1948 Desoto and my 1950 Dodge I feel that the Carburetors could be interchanged and work properly. Good luck.
  2. Good evening, It was earlier this year I had both my radiator and heater cores replaced. If your ends "tanks" are good, they should be able to get you a new core. Take measurements of length, width and thickness to make sure it will fit back in the heater box. Good luck Frank
  3. There is a "fork" that will split the two apart. one size for tie rods and a bigger one for ball joints. Put the nut on a few turns and smack it with a good size hammer. Most all auto part stone should have one to buy or even rent. They are not kind to the rubber dust covers. Good luck!
  4. oopps On my car the is a bracket from the head to the air cleaner and they are mounted on that bracket.
  5. That is a circuit breaker and a resistor. Looks like the same diagram for my 1950 Dodge.
  6. The Man at Westech told me that his Tack will not work with electronic ignition. Not sure if there is a design change. I thick his name was Collen
  7. TRY WWW.dpmotorpart.com From October Hemmings page 115
  8. Here are the dimensions for the brake drums i have. Mopar 11 x 2 1/2 4.480 overall height. this can be shortened by a lip that is .620 long. The outside diameter is 13 5/8. The thickness of the face is .105. the flat face on the inside mates to the axel face about 6 1/8. Center hole is 2.840 and the stud holes are already.655 Mopar 10 x 2 1/2 3.680 overall height. The outside diameter is 11 9/16. The thickness of the face is .100. The flat face that mates to the axel face is the same as above 6 1/8. The center hole is the same at 2.840 and the stud holes are already .655. Hope this helps. Good luck
  9. I did not mention that the part numbers i gave earlier were for six-cylinder cars only.
  10. I have not checked any dimensions but i have some rear drum that are 11 x 2 1/2 and 10 x 2 1/2. Is there anyone that has taken the hub off an old drum? The face thickness may be of concern also by look at the pictures the overall depth. I will try to measure the drums i have later today and post them for comparing.
  11. Good morning, Mopar also used 11 x 21/2 brakes later. My 1970 charger has them on the rear end. Could you adapt?
  12. Looking in my 1954 and prior parts book shows 1949 - 1952 being the same parts numbers. 1316 714 right side and 1316 715 left side. Passenger cars. I do not have a parts book for trucks yet. Maybe the same part numbers in the same vintage or years. Good luck.
  13. Good evening to all, How does one pick a vender? I have read in our forums about all the trouble and the misunderstanding. The solutions that all of you have come up with. Also read all of the instruction from venders. But the bottom line for me is what about the Track, width. I want my OE wheels, i do not want to have to raze my front end because my wheels stick out. Can any of you shed some light on this PLEASE Thank you
  14. Good morning, The puller you talked about is to pull the hub off the axel. The axel has a wood drift key in them also. Mopar used hubs on tapered axels I think up 1964. The drum is attached to the hub and should then come off as one unit. You will need a pulled . Good luck.
  15. If i remember correctly the only time i found a torque spec. was for my 64 Plymouth. It was 90 INCH POUNDS. But i still check for rotation and movement /wiggle top to bottom.
  16. Can you tell if the rest of the bolt is tight? can you move it at all? If it moves at all, can you find a left-handed drill bit? maybe you can spin it out. Run the drill very slow and push like crazy. you can tell if it's working the bolt will push back at you. It has worked for me. Good luck
  17. I have a 1950 dodge Gyro matic. I also have a 1948 Desoto. The tranny s and the wiring look to be the same. Would this open up your search for a carburetor. To be able to look for 46/47 - 52 Chrysler, Desoto Dodge. Not sure about the Sisson Choke arms yet. I have not tried it yet, but I will certainly post once I do. Happy hunting
  18. Marcel, I very short while ago I had my 1950 Dodge radiator recored. I used a modern looking core. The cost was just about 600. 00. The turnaround was only a few days, The Brass works can also supply a core and do the work.
  19. This helps bunch. Thank you
  20. Tired iron, I thank you for your in put this sounds like a very straight forward fix and not be a problem an longer.
  21. I am working on the root of why i only get a dribble of gas before trying to feed two carburetors. The gauge read around 3/4 full. I look at the tank from my 48 Desoto and it looks like it HAD a screen? I will check this tank. (1950 Dodge Coronet)
  22. I will take another look and may do the same. This trouble would put a kink in my dual carb plans. Thank you
  23. When i take off the line from the gas tank Shouldn't gas be coming out sort of fast? I think there is a wire mess strainer in the tank, correct? it does not look like it is in the fitting. Can this be replaced? The tank looks great inside from the sending unit access. I think my fuel should be dripping very fast almost a steady steam, free flowing? What has everyone else seen? Frank
  24. I thank everyone. My plan was to wire both carbs to the tranny, resistor and the circuit breaker. I do have BXVES carbs and kits from MIKES for them.
  25. I will work on the photos but sometime i have a hard time getting photos loaded
