  13. Muganic I had what mite have been the same thing. I took out the speedo and it would not turn. There is a oil wick in a tube that has a screwdriver slot. Take that off I applied a few drops of light oil in the speedometer. I let it sit for a few hours upright ( as mounted , no oil to drip on the face)and tried to move it with a pair of plyers and a the piece if broken cable. I oiled the wick as it was dry. I used a little 3 in 1 brand Heavy and a few drops of 10w that I had open. The speedometer stated to move with the plyers and then by hand after that i used the piece of cable and my cordless drill on low speed . Mine works just fine no bouncing and very accurate according to the GPS in my phone. Sorry you got the whole blow by blow. Good Luck
  14. Good Moring, I just bought a tranny adapter to put a late model tranny behind a 251. I called back as the part number is called a 230/350. The owner told me he has not seen a Mopar flat head six that is different that his plate will not fit yet. So I would say that it will bolt up. but other things may not be there like bot holes and threaded hole.
  15. I was digging around as an engine build is in my future. Aside from compression. is there a head gasket that is better then others? I am leaning toward a Felpro. Any leads would be a great help. They had restored a few suburban's at that time. Is there anyone That bought a restored Suburban 5-7 years ago That mite have leads?

  19. I will look closer, I can see what looks like household insulation and most of the headliner has come away from the bows already. Mine looks to be tucked under a black painted strip that is pop riveted to the car. I can not see any teeth yet. I will investigate more on Monday.
  20. I need more help please. My shop manual shows nothing about removing or installing a headliner. There is already a hole. The headliner appears to be tucked under a metal strip. I do not see how the strip or the headliner can be removed. I am also to save as much of the headliner intact as possible as a pattern.
