  1. Anyone on a lead for a new rear Hub????? Also any answer on being able to change to outer rear axle seal and if we have to remove backing plate to do it or can we pull it out and replace it without removing backing plate ...Thanks ......

  3. Trying to dicern the shop manuel can the rear outer axle shaft deals be replaced without removing the brake backing plate???? I can't tell from the shop manual
  4. Ok I need to post a parts wanted and for the life of me can't get to where to do it....I need a drivers side rear hub we do not need the drum .....just hub ...Thanks Steve

  9. Ok I just tried for a 1/2 hour and must be stupid. Cause I can't find how to get to the parts wanted thread......
  10. Also since I have the driveshaft out I want to replace the pinion seal...I take it I can remove the yoke nut and use a puller to remove yoke and replace seal......????
  11. Thanks Merle I have a slide hammer puller that attached to the lugs ...I sprayed the axle the best I could with pb blaster gonna let it sit for a day and try again .....

  13. Ok tank has no numbers and it only says "tanks" ......so I want to put a sending unit in it.....is it the hole closet in picture or the hole in the other side of the filler neck??????? Thanks

  15. Now into our questions for the weekend:::: OK we tried to remove the driver side rear hub using a 3 jaw puller and then a slide hammer and it will not move at all .......I think I have bearings seized to the axle ....Now What?????? I'm at a loss........Thanks

  21. Yea like most of us I have no idea what the previous owner did ...from the things I see that he did I would not even ask him....scotch locks..burnt wires...etc so I'll just have to watch it after we change it....Thanks
  22. Ok engine gurus...we have a few cases of this oil left from our drag racing days...it is very high in Zink and phosphates..=good for bearings....it is 10w30....can I use this in the flat head or is it a no no .....Thanks
  23. Ok since I'm replacing the water pump I just read about a water distrabution tube in the head....is it standard practice to pull it out and check it ???? I believe this engine to be completely original having no work done to it.....Thanks
