  1. Ok on to the next safety issue....Brakes.....brake pedal pumps up after 1 stroke ..... thinking it was air we bled and bled and bled some more ....LOL...but pedal still has to be pumped up once or twice to get a solid pedal,when released have to pump again,I'm thinking master cylinder ????? Or should we do a "minor" brake adjustment first ????? The service manual states the adjustment cams for the shoes ,found them right away for the back but dammed if we can find them on the front backing plate ......any info would be appreciated....Thanks Steve

  4. Understand 100%.... But why does the book say hook timing light to #6 cylinder???? Asked my engine builder and he said absolutely not hook to number 1 cylinder
  5. I guess I still don't understand the search function,I tried "timing" " engine timing" couldn't find anything....Need instructions on timing my rebuilt 218, service book is very generic as how to do it .....Thanks
  6. Any sources out there for our door latches???? Pulled our regulators and door latches out and the driver's side latch is completely toast ......had a screen door spring holding it together....Thanks as always...Steve

  8. Does anyone have a picture of how the intake studs go in ???? I'm at the can n trying to reinstall the intake and forgot my picture at home of the placement of the lock bolts and nuts ....Thanks

  11. And all I wanted was a measurement so I could take to measuring mine LOL .....very interesting that Dodge never published the stock size of the Rod Journels....I figured someone would look in a book and answer....But Very interesting responses that's for sure...... Thanks Guys ........
  12. So in actuality the factory had no clearance on the rod journals....I listened what the book said was bearing size ....and your telling me the journals we're the same size ..... Thanks for the quick response........Steve

  14. Out of the several Dodge b series manuals I have no where does it list the stock rod journal size....they give bearing size as 2 1/16 which is 2.0625 but not what size stock journals are.... Thanks Steve.....

Here is a pic of the only fittings I could make work with -4 lines .....a -4 to 1/8 45 degree in the lower port ....and a 1/8 machined 90 degree street elbow with a -4 to 1/8 straight fitting.....All other options didn't work ,I bought a number of fittings thinking they would work to no avail........Steve
  16. Bones44 can u please post a pic of how u tied the -4 lines I'm to the block ,I have bought every imaginable -4 fitting and I'm not able to get any fitting to work , straights,45's and 90's ...... because the block fittings ar so close ... Thanks Steve

  18. Is it possible to remove the engine without the bell housing in these vehicles or Is it impossible... Loosing more than winning with this truck .......down on my luck ....... Thanks Steve

Los,See that's what's confusing,I started the truck up this morning and this thing will idle at 160 degrees all day long never opening the thermostat....I idled it for 2 hours this morning and never opened the thermostat....Kinda confusing......so no overheating problems....I even turned up the idle speed to see if I could get the thermostat to open ...... nothing

  21. HELP ....went to drain my block to put new temp sensor in and got mud...see pic below,I believe that should be for draining coolant out of the block??? When I removed petcock nothing but mud and no coolant.....please advise

Thanks Guys....Yes the filter adapter from Wix is marked with flow and also the bypass oil filter is also interesting compared to what we are used to...the in Port on the filter adapter goes directly into the bypass filter by means of a orifice in the center ,then gets filtered and directed to the out port on the housing.....Very Enlightening.... Thanks Again...hope this helps others
