Installed my gas tank today...is there a plate that is supposed to go over the fill tube in the floor originally???? I see holes like there should be one but one didn't come with the truck ....can't find anything in parts or service manual.. Thanks Steve

Ok when I got the truck the bed was in parts ...I know where the three longer cross bars go in the bed but I have this one shorter one...does it go all the way back on the frame rails???? In the last holes by end of the frames??? There is no holes in it other than for the main bolts that go thru the frame to hold the bed down ....Thanks Steve

Does anyone know if axle dust covers are available for our trucks???? The cover that goes over the castle nut on front hubs.....Thanks Steve

OK I'm so embarrassed to ask this so far into my project I'm a (dumb ass) .....1950 B1B..... Is my front axle bent ?????? Before I took this truck apart and started working on it ,I drove it and it went straight down the road .....I just caught this today......I'm very made at myself for missing this ....NOW WHAT????

I'm not recalling if when I removed the rear shocks that washers we're installed on each side of the eyelets (cupped) washers..I purchased new shocks (Napa) and they didn't have new washers with the shocks...Does the nut just go on without washers ??? If so what holds the shock from coming off the stud because the nuts are relatively small... Thanks Steve

I'm to a point of installation of my rear shocks and found something so simple (if I would have taken a picture) that I'm confused (easy to do) ...most shocks I have ever installed had cup washers on each side of the shock bushings..the new shocks (Napa) didn't come with any and I don't remember the truck having them well at least they are not in my 5gal pail of parts I removed...do I simple put the shocks on with no washers ???? Whewwwww been a long while ....ok back at the truck part time ...I'm ready to install rear hubs and looking for instructions on how to do so ....I searched and couldn't find anything...so do I shine the axles???? Do I use anything on axle ??? Oil,anti sieze??? Also can't find axle nut torque specs in my books...Thanks Ahead of time...Steve

Well finnally some time with Lucy....got inner and outer rear axle seals in and back together.... pulled old pinion seal out and that was a real bugger to do ...came out in 3 separate parts.....come to the conclusion that she won't be driven this summer .....what a bummer

So we have our box off and it's sitting on our back yard and I'm thinking but tell me if I'm wrong....is it possible to do the wood bed without the bed on the truck ??? Like install the boards and strips on bed and then lift bed back onto truck???? Although it will be heavier is this possible?????

It says long and short......the 3 -1/2 studs are NOT for the 1/2' ton or mine maybe shrunk .....lol for what I'm finding control this truck it could be.... THANKS for the help

Is this the book your referring too???? Let me know when u find the length of manifold studs and what page they are on LOL or even find a picture of the intake/exhaust manifold used on 1/2 ton trucks....
