The car is all original with drum brakes still. Even still 6 volt. Was not sure if there are drop spindles for drums. Do not really want to cut off a coil since it is all original. If I change coils I can change them back later.

Drop down spindles will make for a better ride. If your front coils are old and sagging cutting them will just make it worse. Either way you would have to disassemble the front suspension. Might as well do it the right way with some drop downs.

Best.

NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Do not attempt to use Fatman dropped spindles with drum brakes! I did that on my car, and it increased the turning radius so much I couldn't get out of the driveway! I had to grind away portions of the brake backing plates to make the car driveable, and the turning radius is still much larger than stock. Not recommended!!!!!!

I am running 1956 Ford front springs in my 1940 Oz Dodge(Plymouth chassis)........they have been in it for about 20yrs now, think I cut one coil, they were slightly thicker from memory........andyd

I believe espo can custom make you a set of springs with the same spring rate as stock but in a shorter spring. Thats the way to go.

Where in NW Ohio are you located? A group of us are heading to Detroit at the end of July for a Plymouth gathering. Might be worth a trip for you.

I live outside of Toledo. About an hour from Detroit. PM me with details I would love to go.
