put on fiberglass fenders. To me they would even fell different even under the paint. An old school body man could take out ANY deformity with tools and time. I have seen fenders and even whole cars crumpled like accordions brought back to good as new life. Get some tools and video and a pile of sand and try it. Go as far as you can then fiberglass the finer wrinkles if you have to. Any rust can be cut out, new metal welded in then ground almost smooth. Ask some old school body men for help. You will learn a lot.

I agree with Frank. If they are really gone you could try salvage yards for them. I just couldn't bring myself to use fiberglass fenders even if I could't feel or see the difference, I would know and it would bug me. The OCD side of me always wins. :D

Watch e-bay for new old stock fenders. I got one oft of e-bay for around 150 dollars and I was surprised that you could even find one. Worked great as my old one had rusted out and now it has a brand new original steel 42 fender. Jon

any one here have any for a 48 business coupe, kevin

Myself I don't see anything wrong with fiberglass fenders. After all, what's a Corvette made out of or cars like my Lumina Van. My van is now 13 years old in the rust belt and there's not a speck of rust anywhere on it. It can't rust. I wouldn't mind having a whole P15 made out of a fiberglass body.

That said, the only place I knew of that made the fenders was RR Fenders. Sounds like thats no longer around. I have the same place listed on my website with the phone number. However, that was sometime ago I listed it on the website. Many area codes have changed over the years. So.........if you called that number with the old area code you may get the wrong number. Check the city, then call information for their number. They may just have a new area code there.

If the area code fails to bring up anything try the Street Rod magazines. I found RR Fenders at a booth at the NSRA meet in Louisville, KY back in the 90's. You'll also see a bunch of fiberglass parts makers advertised in Street Rodder Magazine. Just because they don't specifically mention P15 fenders in their ad doesn't mean they can't or don't make them. Call around to a few of them to check. Might also try the Annual Hemmings Almanac that list all their advertisers.

Good luck.

Norm..buy a set of glass ones...sell your old heavy rust prone steel ones...be a big investment agaist future rust

Wonder just how much rust Norm will actually have on his fenders? Even if he salts his driveway I dont know how much salt will actually hit the inside of his fenders unless he is doing burnouts in the wet salty driveway.

Tim, already have an investment in the attic. Have an extra right side rear fender up there that's in excellent shape. Waiting for it to turn to "Gold".:D Had an extra left fender but put that on the coupe years ago. Both my rear fenders were dented when I bought the car. Left side was really bad so instead of trying to bang it out, just replaced it. The right side wasn't too bad so used the old hammer and dolly on it and saved the extra fender for a rainy day. You couldn't buy one fender for what I paid for the pair back then.

Tim,

The fenders I bought came from a guy who had taken a P15 4 door apart to restore, then decided he'd rather have a Buick (52 Buick that is). Bought both fenders one day for only $50 for the pair. I also needed an original windshield wiper knob. Ask him how much for it and he said its free. About a month later I went back and bought the rolling chassis from him. He also threw in a bunch of small stuff in a box, like linkage, etc on the deal. Still have most of those parts except the rear end and wheels which I sold. Think that all took place about 1996. Can't find those prices today.
