Allan Faust Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Tim, right side of the page, halfway down.... this it??? http://www.wescottsauto.com/pdf-ford-fender/c09-1937-ford-fender.pdf Allan Quote
Allan Faust Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Let me know how it turns out once you get some.....they might be able to send you a sample to make sure (I know I'd ask). If I can help with any other searches, let me know..... Allan Quote
David Maxwell Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 This is the sort of thing I searched for for years. Has it been out there all along? I wound up finding two NOS welts, but they were pretty expensive. They did have the advantage of having all the correct curves though. On my next P15 (still hoping) I don't want to sped that much again. $20 ea. sounds reasonable. Quote
greg g Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 Tim, did you search the LBC catalogs for AH / Jag stuff? Quote
Allan Faust Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 The place is in Oregon if I member correctly.... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Tim, that's the type of welt on my rear fenders. It's been on there since the 1970s and has held up rather well. Don't recall now where it came from. Quote
Allan Faust Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Now that Allan identified the vehicle this repo part is for..Dennis Carpenter and such carries these..never had seen them at the shows for some reason...when next I attend a show I will phone them to see if it will be at the show if not could they carry a couple pieces for me..have now found 4 suppliers with prices between 20-25 dollars..again..thanks Allan... I still have not measured my fender opening abut hope it is within the 8 foot limit...seems this would be the only limiting factor using this product on our old Mopars... No problem Tim.... searching is my fun, and sometimes finding is just using the right words and symbols etc to cut out the chaff.... (If I can help out to return the help I've got here, I'm willing) as for the 8 foot limit, 2 things come to mind... one, I think a fender on a 20's-30's ford is much bigger than our fenders.... and second.... splices can always be made in a nice way..... and a third, if Bob has had em on his car... I think they would fit urs too.... Allan Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 to cut out the chaff.... Allan I have not heard that word for a while. Wonder how many here know what it means? Quote
Young Ed Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 Isn't chaff the stuff they eject from an airplane to distract a missle? Quote

greg g Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Chaff is the basic ingredient of straw. The stuff the combine winnows away from the wheat or oats. Which begs the question is it a windrow or a winrow, that is a row of winnowed material???? When does a windrow become a berm? and what is the function of a swather? (automatic baby wraper?) So now do we need discuss the difference between reaping, threshing and combining. Sheaves of information here. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 So now do we need discuss the difference between reaping, threshing and combining. In the 70's I lived in a combine.. or was that a commute.... or a commune.... or a columbine... or a cubicle.... you know, one of those places as seen in the easy rider movie.. Whatever I lived in one I think:rolleyes: Quote
Allan Faust Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 So now do we need discuss the difference between reaping, threshing and combining.Sheaves of information here. Well, as far as I know, reaping can be grim , threshing is what them birds, thrushes, threshes, whatever do.... and combine em and you got one killer pissed off bird Allan Quote
