billrigsby Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 The Chrysler A57 Multibank is a 30-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1,253 cubic inches (20.5 liters), developed in 1941 as the United States entered World War II. This powerplant is composed of five groups of inline-six engines, typically found in civilian automobiles, to achieve the 370 horsepower required to propel the M3 and M4 tanks. 4 Quote
Veemoney Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 What carbs were used pops into my head at first sight of that. I remember hearing at some point the tanks used heaters to preheat the fuel to get better range before having to refuel. Quote
Los_Control Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Whats the dimensions, and will it fit into my truck are the first things that pop into my mind. Who needs a high rise manifold to stick dual carbs out of the hood ..... lets stick a complete flathead engine out of the hood 1 Quote
John-T-53 Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 "The octopus" I'll bet that whoever owns the tank that this thing came out of, swapped it for a small block Chevy! 1 Quote
Ulu Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Wait, this had five crankshafts? Whoa! Was there another 5hp engine just to pump the oil? Quote
