Indeed! Jacquiline is like a portable car show. I have had a guy ask me to wait at a gas station so he could go home and get his classic (Pre 70s Chevelle). For the record, she is in way better condition than when I found her, and she will only continue to improve under my ownership. Dave72dt Posted November 2, 2023 Report Posted November 2, 2023 I used some 6 mil plastic drop cloth for painting and fastened it with weatherstrip glue. I have more time than finances so I focus on parts of the projects that don't require much finance but do require labor. I'm doing panel fitment and body work on the truck. Drivetrain work is on hold for a while. Quote

I was actually seriously thinking about that, when I did the carpet (I used regular brown rug from Home Depot "to order" variety). I was playing around with left-over carpet pieces and really liked the way it looked holding it next to the door... Ended-up using it for the floor, trunk, and glove box ? 2 hours ago, Dave72dt said: I have more time than finances so I focus on parts of the projects that don't require much finance but do require labor. Well, you know, there are two types of men: 1) the ones who can do everything themselves, and 2) the ones who can afford to pay others to do things for them. So you can either work for someone else and earn money to spend on yourself, or just work for yourself Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 3) The ones who can afford to pay someone else to do it, but prefer to do it themselves. 4) The ones who can do everything themselves but can afford, and prefer to, pay others to do it. I know all four types. Me, I am probably a 3, learned it by being a 1 out of necessity. Quote
Los_Control Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 Is there a #5 ? ...... Those that may or may not know how to do it ..... but insist on doing it anyways to learn? Sometimes this attitude has cost me money .... with the mistakes ..... It is a lot of fun learning though. 3 Quote
oldodge41 Posted November 3, 2023 Report Posted November 3, 2023 Maybe in my case it should say: 3) The ones who think they can do everything, can afford to pay someone else to do it, but prefer to do it themselves. Even if it means doing it multiple times. LOL 1 Quote

LOL Yeah, so if you mess up, you don't have to resent having paid for the work, and if you want to kick someone's beehind, the one that did it is right there, handy. 2 1 Quote
