rubber seal Purolator by pass filter

Looking for a source for the rubber seal that goes into the groove of the cover on a Purolator by-pass filter assembly. It calls for a P40 filter which crosses to a Wix 51201, unfortunately, the seal is the wrong one. The dimensions are : OD = 4 5/8"  ID = 4 1/8" thickness = .125". I have tried McMaster Carr etc.

Since these older gasket are not easy to find I make my own gaskets for my by pass oil filter lid.  All you need is a compass and pair of sissors and also make a couple gaskets.

The mother of invention is the savior when something is necessary needed right now.

I am still using the old one. Yours is also just a rubber gasket, isn't it? You can just cut it out from the regular gasket material of appropriate thickness.

I did use the old one, has some cracks in it which produced leaks. Will attempt to make one, Dad has a compass up in the work shop.
