Mark G Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 how many of the group have switched to the electric conversion whose "kit" did you use/chose where did you mount switch I still have a 6v pos.system thanks Quote
ggdad1951 Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 For FEF I used a period 6V system so that was easy! For TODD I bought the NewPort Engineering wiper set up. Slick and drop in IMO for 12V. Quote
Eneto-55 Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 P15. I've been considering it, but didn't know there were kits available for this, in 6 volts. I have done some research in how to re-wind a 12 volt motor for 6 volt operation (and preferably with variable speed capability), but of course the first step would be finding an electric motor option that would fit. The other option is to add a vacuum canister, which should go a long ways to help the situation. (I have re-wound a motor in the past, but that was for 120 VAC, and I rewound a 3-speed motor as a single speed. But the guy who told me how to do it, how to choose the right size wire, etc. is no longer living.) Quote

Veemoney Posted April 13, 2023 Report Posted April 13, 2023 Look for universal jeep willys wiper motor. They are about the same size and can be had for a lot cheaper. Some have the switch built in to the motor like the link here. I use original Bosch 6v motors in my WC they are working fine. You may find some if you look around some.
