Hello All,

I need to replace the rear brake hose. The description on the current hose is:  "DOT - GY - 11/89 - 3/16 - HL."

I have not been successful finding an identical hose.

The Sunsong hose (#6222) for 57 100s that can be purchased from Amazon or RockAuto is not long enough at 18.5 inches to screw into the t-fitting near the top of the differential. I would need at least another inch to make my connection. Also the Sunsong hose's circumference is smaller than the hose on the truck I mentioned above. Here is the Sunsong hose item description: "DOT Sunsong SAE J1401 1/8 HL 2021 .06.30 11:18:17."  So these two hose sizes are definitely different.

That DOT - GY - 11/89 hose has been on the truck since I purchased it over 5 years ago.

Any ideas on where to source a hose long enough that will work?

For my 1949 I bought my hoses from rockauto .... sure there are many other places also ... mine fit fine and do what they are advertised to do.

Just a thought, maybe you can get the part # from RA & then have your local autoparts store translate it to something they have in stock ... NAPA is pretty good about being able to go back to the early years for part #

Do you have an original parts book? It is amazing how often the original Chrysler part number can be looked up on Napa Online and return a modern part cross reference.

Use the hose for the front.  It's 1 1/2 " longer at 20 1/8" and has the same thread specs as the rear hose.  It's also used front and rear on the D200 and D300 models.  Dorman hoses are spec'd  a bit shorter at 19 5/8"

That is good advice .... I was just looking at my rear line on the shelf  saw the part # was different then the rear line for @elane352 1957.

Then I remembered I ordered 3 front lines & what I'm using on my rear. ..... Probably for this very reason.

Great advice regarding usage of the D200 or D300 brake hoses. Their extra length will do the trick. I have placed an order. Thank you much!!!
